Video of a woman on an Upper Darby, Pa., firetruck has landed volunteer firefighters in a situation too hot to handle.
The firefighters snapped pictures of a sexy Philadelphia dancer as she posed suggestively on their Ladder 37 truck outside a Rolling Stones concert at the Tower Theatre.
A professional photographer who was outside the theater captured a much different picture from the one he originally was shooting for.
The unidentified woman posed on the truck wearing a Fire Station 3 helmet, a cut-off black tank top with the word "sexy" on it and short shorts. At one point, she dropped the shorts to reveal her thong underwear.
In one shot (pictured, left), a fireman appeared to be tucking the woman's underwear back in her shorts and helping her zip them up.
Some residents are upset about the pictures
"You have a duty to uphold the obligations and integrity which that organization subscribes to," said Upper Darby resident Chris Felton.
Township officials are also steaming over the sensuous scenes.
"People use poor judgment. It's not appropriate for firefighters to put themselves in that position. Poor judgment," said Upper Darby Administrator Thomas Judge Jr.
Judge also said that at least four volunteers, whose names he would not release, should not have allowed their late-night entertainer on the truck. He said that the truck might have made an unauthorized stop at the concert.
Judge said that the deputy fire chief and the fire marshal were at the concert on official business. The deputy then called for additional help. Which fire companies responded is still under investigation.
"They are out representing Upper Darby Township when they are on the job, and if they don't want to act in proper, procedure manner, then we don't want them as volunteers," Judge said.
The administrator also said that he hopes to wrap up the investigation by Friday and decide on the firefighter's punishment at that time.
I was thankful it was a WOMAN the men were "admiring"...ahem.
Do I have to be a Bible thumper to be Conservative?
How do I get on the thong ping list?
I presume by "pay them" you're referring to the firefighters, right?
Not true. You can tell by the picture that he's using his hands.
I hope you realize that neither asbestos nor tin-foil will protect you from self-righteous indignation.
I challenge your assumptions here. Since they are volunteers it is difficult to argue they show no respect for the people who paid them. Secondly, I am a bit curious on how you claim no respect for women... If a woman gets her self esteem from showing off her body, or just enjoys it, I don't think it can be argued that those looking have no respect for women. Might be sad and pitable that the woman gets her worth possibly from such behavior, but I fail to see the inate disrespect to the entire gender. As to what is or is not morally acceptable, this is indeed different for all people. Is looking at a scantily clad or naked woman, who obviously is scantily clad or naked for the sole purpose of being looked at inately evil? I am hard pressed to believe that it is. Is using ones sexuality to make a living inately evil? Again, I am hard pressed to argue that it is. Do I agree that sex is far too prolific in our society? Absolutely, corporations use it to promote everything and bombard children with sexual imagery from the moment of birth. I agree it should be toned down and should be kept from children.. there is no reason some woman in a thong barely covering her slit should be gyrating on a tv at 3:30pm in the afternoon. I do believe however that adults can engage in adult activities. I am not a huge fan of repression. Live and let live is what I tend to use as my moral guidepost. Provided they are not doing anythign to harm others. I treat others with respect, and how I should be treated, but do not attempt or want to be in charge of enforcing my view on others. I know there are some who think the genie should go back into the bottle, but the reality it is it can't and it won't. I believe the FCC should do more to keep crap of our airwaves, yet the "conservatives" at least politicians, may rant about it, but when push comes to shove, their "free enterprise" mantra overpowers their rhetoric and instead of a more powerful FCC they undercut and advocate its demolision. I would never be disrespectful to a woman, I always hold the doors for them. Treat them as equal, and enjoy greatly their company. I would never expect anything from them beyond what they desired to offer, and would not lie, cheat or steal to get them to offer more. SO I believe I am very respectful of the fairer sex, after all they rule the world anyway. (some just haven't figured that out yet, they are called feminists) If your question is however, do I believe strip clubs are inately immoral? No, I don't. Do I believe nudity is inately evil? NO I do not. Do I believe in adult situations adult activities are inately wrong? No I do not. Taking advantage of someone, anyone obviously is, but I don't believe every situation where a woman acts lewdly is being taken advantage of by men around her.
