Perhaps. I emailed the author of the story and asked if she had any success stories of returning authentic dog tags to veterans or their families. If/when I hear from her, I'll post her comments.

Perhaps you will also ask her why she has set up a separate site and NOT donated the dogtags to a legit organization so that the probabiblity of any fakes may be eliminated and any possible real ones returned.
