Thanks for posting the memorial to the Pow/Mias. How powerful a reminder it is that we have so many men and women who are unaccounted for. This is unacceptable to me, and I know it is to most of us. Do you happen to know if they still sell the POW bracelets? I have one from the past, but my POW thank God came home! I would like to get a new one with the name of one still missing. Thanks again.

Some may be fakes, but some may be authentic. (She states in her story that she realizes that. And so do I.)

I think Stacey's story is a wonderful testament to the fact that one person can do something to try to make a difference in the lives of others. And I applaud her for her efforts to honor those who served during the Vietnam War.

The lives she made a difference in were Vietnamese pocketing the $'s.

Photo taken at the Cham ruins at My Son, about 40 clicks WSW of Danang, in a basin bordered north by Cats Tooth Mountain.

I encourage all Vietnam veterans to go back to Vietnam and spread the gospel of capitalism. Dog tags made while you wait.

Sorry to rain on the lovefest, but these dogtags are available all over Vietnam. They are made locally and sold to tourists. The chance of these being actually from US soldiers is very small. I have been to Vietnam and these types of things are everywhere.

Bump from a Viet Vet with a Vietnamese significant other!

Has anyone else heard of the warning put out some time ago NOT to buy dog tags in Vietnam? Seems they were manufacturing them for the tourists.

Yes, I have been to Vietnam and you can buy every piece of 'real GI' gear you want... freshly made just last week.

Thanks for the ping. What a wonderful story and a wonderful girl. I hate sitting here at work with tears in my eyes!

I pray each one of these tags is returned to the waiting families.

Buying these fake tags does nothing for the thousands of Viet Vets and families in the US. Posted by a Viet Viet.
