Maryland Democrats profess to be shocked by the behavior of political consultant Julius Henson, who on Friday, in his official first day on the job as a consultant working to turn out black voters in Prince George's County for Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, denounced Republican gubernatorial nominee Robert Ehrlich as "a Nazi" and "a bad man."

VOTE QUIMBY

"Quimby seems like just a thinly-veiled version of Senator Kennedy. And I like that." -Lenny

Glendening and Townsend were never made to answer for the despicable, lying ads they ran against Ellen Sauerbrey in 1998. This was one of the most disgraceful campaigns I have ever seen. The vote fraud in Baltimore was monumental as well.

This morning I saw a Townsend ad and they are at it again, saying "Bob Ehrlich voted to abolish the Department of Education." Maryland Democrats are nothing but demagogues who lust for power and then do nothing once they get it.

"Bob Ehrlich voted to abolish the Department of Education."

I've seen the ad a number of times already on TV. I had to research it to make sure. Ehrlich did vote to close the Department of Education. I believe it was one of the planks in the "Contract for America", to end the Department of Education and convert the funds to block grants for states to use as they saw fit.

Now, taking one vote to close the Department of Education as an indication that Ehrlich wouldn't do a good job stewareding Maryland's educational programs is a bit of stretch, obviously. But that aspect of the ad isn't untruthful (but I suspect we'll see a lot worse very soon).

Fraud: I read about the last election where voting booths from key districts (pro and con Sauerbrey) were either missing or fooled with, respectively..........and when restraining orders and subpoenas were filed the remaining suspect-booths all seemed to disappear or their electronic memories were "cleared and reset".

These people make Lyndon Johnson or Mayor Dailey of Chicago look like amateurs.

Remember this?

"An organization, however streamlined and efficient, is made up of erring human beings, and in those years when Hitler was shaping his party to take over Germany's destiny he had his fill of troubles with his chief lieutenants, who constantly quarreled not only among themselves but with him."

"He, who was so monumentally intolerant by his very nature, was strangely tolerant of one human condition - a man's morals. No other party in Germany came near to attracting so many shady characters. As we have seen, a conglomeration of pimps, murderers, homosexuals, alcoholics and blackmailers flocked to the party as if to a natural haven."

Funny how history repeats itself.

Even more odd that no one seems to have learned anything from it.
