HARTFORD, Conn. -- Erskine Bowles, a North Carolina candidate for the U.S. Senate, has been named in a lawsuit filed by Connecticut officials seeking to reclaim more than $120 million of lost state pension funds.

The lawsuit, originally filed in February, was amended Monday to add two more defendants, including Bowles. The lawsuit accuses New York investment firm Forstmann Little of making investments not permitted in its contract with the state.

Are you sure? I thought she went to Yale and Wellesley.

Arghh .. you're right, I'm wrong on that. Somehow I had got it mistakenly in my mind some years ago about Vassar. Thanks, and I apologize for misdirecting anyone.

No, he won't plunge because darth will still vote for him. Remember! Balls has qualifications and, and, and he's a real North Carolinian. I would imagine darth voting for hillary though as a native new yukker.

Before you start dreamily wishing you could 'mow down the lads in Grey' you ought to know that NC lost more of our boys in 'That Recent Unpleasantness' than any other state.

And we choose to remember them with the proper solemn reverence they deserve. God rest their Souls.

Thank you.

Buried on page B-5 in the Winston-Salem Journal today. What page would it be on had it been any other party? That's what I thought.

"Bowles was a board member at McLeodUSA from 1999 to 2001, at the same time he was a general partner at Forstmann Little. He stepped down from both jobs last year to run for the Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Jesse Helms. In September 1999, Forstmann Little - using some Connecticut pension fund money - invested $477 million into McLeod, the lawsuit says. The deal went sour when McLeod filed for bankruptcy in January."

I cannot imagine having the chutzpah to even consider doing something so unethical as to deal as a double-agent between a pension fund I was overseeing and I company I was a board-member for...then thinking I could get away with it!! But I guess every single person who even considered working for the absolutely corrupt Clinton Administration should be automatically suspected to be corrupt or they wouldn't have gotten involved with the EX-FirstFelon in the first place!!
