Judge: State liable for Sacred Falls rockslide

A circuit court judge ruled this afternoon that the state is liable for the 1999 Sacred Falls Mother's Day rockslide that killed eight people and left about 50 injured. Circuit Judge Dexter Del Rosario ruled in favor of about 30 people suing the state in what was one of the worst natural disasters in Hawai'i history.
