Pat Buchanan praised gore's speech. I hope the remaining Buchananites will be finished with him after this! Pat called it powerful and thought gore was correct! They all loved it on MSNBC! I am disgusted.

Flashback to FLA......and imagine Gore had WON.
Imagine Gore today facing down Al-Qaeda and Saddam .....makes me shudder just to think about it.

He's now comparing us to an "empire", and how because of that, we are losing friends around the world.

Gore saying Bush has abandoned Afghanistan
To: Wait4Truth
Yaknow - this DOES put Gore in the same political level as Pat Buchanan, doesn't it?
To: Wait4Truth

Have we abandoned Afghanistan?
To: frmrda
Oh God, even if we beat a "4th rate Iraq military" we will be in more danger than if Hussein was in power.
Took a shot at Bush defeating a "5th rate military" in Afghanistan.

Excuse me Al , are we not still in Afghjanistan?

Just shows how weak Gore's political standing truly is... he has to move hard left to shore up any chance of getting the nomination in 2004. Calculated move, but very harmful to his party in mid-terms.

Says there is no evidence that Hussein has shared WMD with others.
Says we have "washed our hands" in Afghanistan, and if we do that in Iraq Al Queda will infiltrate Iraq and steal the WMD

This guy sold his Gulf War vote for some TV face time, and he has the nerve to say he was betrayed by the UN's (that's right the--the multi-lateral bureaucrats he worships)"hasty retreat." No shame.

Gore is a hypocrite. The Republicans who called for Congressional intervention to stop or limit Clinton's futile Kosovo crusade (but now favor an imperial presidency) are also hypocrites. So what is new? Some of us are interested in the more timeless question as to whether an attack on Iraq is justified...rather than in wasting time of side matters such as whether someone is a hypocrite or not. Hypocrites are dime a dozen.

"Is Scott Ritter gonna be his running mate?"
Inverse. Ritter for the top spot. His Iraqi-backed handlers have prepped and shined him up over the past year to be presentable and coherent, at least at first.
All Gore's got is some West Wing type clipping Eurosnot stories regurgitated in US papers, and buzzphrase talking points from a while ago.
If this is planned from DNC, they chose the wrong person. It would show that the election strategy was something like this - attack and attack Bush (started bout 4 mos. ago), Make Iraq an issue, discover that it doesn't help them, change to the "economy" for a week, then back to Bush, insinuate 1. he's going to attack before the election (always a fear of an opposition party), 2. that he's stirring up war fervor ((which I don't see, but only as a "response" to the various forces putting him on the spot. I think the plan was to keep it quieter).
Top Dems are narcissistic - they are more personalities than anything, so naturally they think about attacking ad hominem. I don't know anyone who's thinking about Iraq when considering these congressional elections.

Yeah, I hate it when work gets in the way also!

We are now so used to President Bush and understanding exactly what he is saying that Gore now looks even more ridiculous. I wonder if daschle will come out in support of gore. If he does, we win the Senate for sure. Wait until Tony speaks on the 26th and then the President goes to speak to Congress. Gore is toast.
To: All
"what if al Qaeda infiltrates into a weakened defeated Iraq and walks in and takes Iraq's WMDs?"
"if a war in Iraq ends up as bad as a war in Afghanistan it could be much worse for us all."
Has Gore been reading the news/ how are things worse off in Afghanistan?
