What would cause a turn to the north?Maybe a really humongous trailer park? (or do they only attract tornados?)

I lived on the Texas Gulf Coast for over 20 years. They always turn north. This one will probably hit someplace south of Brownsville, but I bet that Texas is going to feel it.

It looks like Progresso is getting whomped or going to be whomped very soon. We were there a number of years ago & wanted help finding the road to Celestun. We asked a guard at their mile-long pier who told us, "The sea...she took it." I doubt if the road was ever rebuilt.
Isidore is still a category 3. I thought she'd build up to a 4 overnight, but so far, she seems stable. It does look like landfall could be anywhere from south of Veracruz to around Galveston.

Even though it's a "her-icane," I believe Isidore is a "he."

Looks like the LBAR forecast is going right up the Sabine river.

I don't care what they say, hurricanes and ships are female. Just call her Isidora, she's cross-dressing.;^)

You are on it. :)
From what I can gather is that a weak high ridge is perventing a turn to the north. But a shortwave (whatever that is) is suppost to break the high and Issy will be sucked north by a low trof. So I guess we need to watch for the trof to develop. I can't see any sign of that yet, but most of the models say it's gonna happen.
