Your relative is lucky her kids weren't seized and subjected to "interviews" with child psychologists who'd plant tales of physical and sexual abuse in the kids minds, and then use their own reports to get a court to keep the kids in foster care, and send the parents to mandatory therapy where they'd have to "stop being in denial" and confess to all sorts of things they never did, in order to get their kids back.

OK already! I am not gonna say that NEVER happens, but that kind of fearmongering distorts the truth.

Are you telling me the tens of thousands of case workers in this country all do nothing but yank kids and feed them stories of suppressed sexual abuse? Are their any children left in real families? - Or is it just the weird ones that make the news?

I don't justify the wrongdoings of CPS, but feeding that kind of paranoia is exactly what leads people to views so twisted that they would look at this video and wonder whether "the right thing to do" is to call the cops.

In our effort to be hawkish about the misuse of CPS power, lets please not get so twisted that we can witness an assault on a child and worry about parents' rights being threatened.

Tex,
I just saw the end of the video on MSNBC. First, I saw the shortened version on FOX, and it ended with the mother openhanded smacking her child. But, the ending on MSNBC did show her delivering a few closed-fist punches in the direction of her daughter's head. I see what you mean about the feet kicking happily, though; that looked strange to me, too. Also, the woman didn't show any emotion at all... So, I see how this "alleged" beating might just look worse than it is. At least, I hope it's not as bad as it looks. I'd like to see the little girl to make sure she's OK.
