Fox show two different clips that may have led to confusiion. In the first clip, it looked like the mother may have spanked the child but in the later segment they showed the entire clip after she put the child in the car seat it really looked like she punched the girl. Now that they have gone missing, I really can't believe there was nothing illegal going on.

They've only shown the full video a few times. The beginning looks like the girl is just getting a spanking but after the girl is put in her seat she was punched in the head repeatedly then viciously shaken.

Regarding the girl kicking her legs, my kids do regardless of the mood. They kick their legs when throwing a tantrum, crying, laughing, etc.

I agree with you-when I saw the legs bouncing-it did look like a happy child- which I am sure is what her defense attorney will argue-they will also argue that the mother was pounding on the car seat and not the child. However-the video is brutal, the mother is certainly making contact, you can see the mother's fury, as she stalks behind the car. The family is hiding the child-until her bruises heal.
