Videotape of Florida Detainees at Tollboth hits airwaves.
Posted on 09/20/2002 8:46:10 AM PDT by Stu Cohen
They just showed the toll booth tapes of the Florida detainees on television.
According to the newscaster, both cars stopped, and paid the attendant. The tapes show them doing exactly this.
I'm not sure what to make of it, but the media is putting the tollbooth tapes into heavy rotation.

Just like that other follower of the Religion of Peace,
Mr. Atta. He went to Vegas, got himself a hooker, went to
strip clubs and bars, but he hates all of the dastardly
Americans. He was a pig. Close our borders to ME now!

Sorry, I don't believe their story any way they
tell it now! They are smug and I think they are
covering for something. Where is the man who took
them to rest? Do you not find that strange?
I believe Eunice.

Sorry, I don't believe their story any way they tell it now! I have heard them every time repeat the same story. So far, the only people that seem to not be able to get their story straight is the media, police and toll booth attendants...possibly Ms. Stone. At best, this is good intentions gone haywire. So far the medical students falsely accused of being terrorists have been quite gracious with all involved. The only legal action I have seen from them is protection against a false criminal charge of failing to pay at a toll booth. Most people would be claiming millions of dollars in damages. They seem to be honorable in their forgiveness. Something a lot of Christians should take notice.

Forgive me, possibly I have some bias towards
them. I wonder why?

Forgive me, possibly I have some bias towards them. I wonder why? I really hope, and I mean I really hope, that your bias has nothing to do with the fact that they are of Arabian decent and practise Islam. That isn't right and its not what our party stands for. As President Bush has said many times, its not Islam and those that practice it we are at war with its the evil do-ers that pervert that religion. Persecuting the innocent does nothing for our common goal of ending terrorism. It just enrages it--giving rhetorical fodder for the guilty.
So far, the wrong do-ers in the event have not been Muslim. We have a toll booth attendant that lied in a swore statement. We have inaccurate reports from the media. And, we have a police department that can't seem to get its story straight.

Since everything that we hear comes through a media filter, I'm not willing to accept (yet) that anybody's story has or hasn't changed.
It's not like our press has a history of accuracy when it comes to breaking news stories.

Sako TRG .338 Lapua.....one the next best things to a .50 BMG....and a lot lighter.

Hearing it out of their own mouths is not hearing it through a media filter.

Jeez, alright already, are you with the ACLU?
I don't believe the three men are telling the
truth.Am I mistaken? I thought I HEARD THEM SAY
that the first car blew the toll booth, that
they were just joking at the Restaurant?

The feces thickens; anybody give a thought that these rightous dudes were nothing more than a diversion and the real load went down another highway or was in another state!!!!. They ain't sophisticated but they ain't stupid.
Shell game!

From what I remember of your posts, we're on the same page. We DO owe the "Hippocratic Oafs" a big Florida thank you for pointing out our weaknesses in the Florida Highway Patrol system and getting them corrected for next time!
I think you'd like the following opinion from Peggy Noonan:

To: windchime
Noonan did an exceptionally good job, as always. What struck me about that piece was that Peggy almost loses it in reference to the sister. Peggy Noonan is always so lady like.
I think that I've about had it with hitting my head against a brick wall on this one. Some people just don't want to accept that these three are liars.
Thanks for the link.

You're welcome! I feel certain we'll see them again. Maybe with some answers.

It's a sad state when so many people lie about everything (Clinton drumroll please), you almost have to assume they are lying in the first instance.

Jeez, alright already, are you with the ACLU? You don't have to be an ACLU member to see that these three men had their Constitutional Rights violated and have shown a great amount of grace in the matter. Seeing the venom that is being spit at them for asserting their rights, as Americans, is disheartening. They did nothing wrong. Now they can't go to Medical School to better themselves and society because one woman looked at their race and made a hunch.

Yes, you are mistaken. They have been the only group in this matter that has not changed their story. The video proves the three Americans paid their tolls and that the toll booth attendent lied in a sworn statement. The police are retracting statements in regard to their discoveries. I believe that Ms. Stone did over hear a conversation at a loud, road side Shoney's resturant through lattace work seperating her and her son from the three men. What I think is that their racial identity and Ms. Stone's preconcieved notions mixed with goings on in the resturant lead her to beleive something that was not true.

OK,truce. That's the great thing about America.
I am entitled to my opinion and you yours.
We'll see how it all works out. All the best.

If both drivers paid part or all of the toll for the first car, the cash register should have been over at the end of the night. They should have known the first day whether or not the toll was double dipped.
Nothing associated with this traffic stop does anything to dispell the notion that they men may have been razzing the locals at Shoney's. Eunice did correctly hear "bring it down" and the students' final destination. Even her 18 year old son heard the comments and thought that they were putting her on. The students have stated that they felt unwelcomed at Shoney's when they walked in the door.
