Deputy Prime Minister, Tareq Aziz has received Wednesday delegations from many countries participating in 8th meeting of the Follow-Up and Coordination Committee of Baghdad Conference.

Mr. Aziz received delegations from Belgium, member of the Socialist Party, Patrich Morllow, and Member of European Parliament, Pheronic Doxir and the accompanying delegation.

He also received Chairman of the Russian Popular Party, Serji Baporein, Chairman of the Ukrainian Socialist Party, Natalein Vederinco, member of Central Committee of the Moldavian Communist Party, Dawlic Doneshenco, and Chairman of the Russian Freedom and Unity Party, Omala Tuova.

During the audiences means of enhancing action towards facing up the US schemes threatening the peace and security in the entire world were discussed.

All delegations have expressed their appreciation for Iraq's decision to allow the inspection teams to resume work in Iraq.

They said that it was a great decision by the Iraqi leadership referring to wisdom in their dealing with such decisive issue and at the same time it is a new evidence of Iraq’s desire to cooperate with the UN.

Mr. Aziz, on his part, stressed on the need to exert all efforts to unmask the US aggressive policy to control Iraq under poor pretexts and false allegations.

"Iraqis are in one hand with the leadership and with our President Saddam Hussein," said Aziz.

Members of the Foreign Relations Bureau at the Arab Ba’ath Socialist Party (ABSP) attended the meeting.

"The Iraqi attack on Iran looks like a concerted effort by radical Arab states, each of which is in a united front relationship with the Soviet Union against "imperialism", to use dual tactics (hostilities by Iraq, assistence by Syria and Libya) with the single overall objective of bringing Iran into an anti-western alliance with them. The object of the alliance would be to gain control over the strategically vital area of the Middle East. It's success could but serve the strategic interests of the communist bloc. Despite Saddam Hussein's alleged purges of communists in Iraq and the moderation of his attitude toward the United States, he is continuing to receive arms supplies from communist sources, as are his Iranian opponents."
