Good info; nice posting.

You avoid detailing significant errors in writings and instead attack her on frankness and style...a forte of the democratic left and many student newspapers.
Suggest you start wearing a tin-suit to ward off radiation that must have impacted reasoned brain functioning so typical in neophyte writings:

Good info; nice posting. Thanks. FWIW, I agree with the column. My suspicion is that Coulter has decided bombast will gain her notoriety, which will in turn gain her money (with the possible benefit of advancing conservatism). Personally, I can't stand Carville, Begala and their ilk precisely because of their argumentation style. And I don't like it in conservatives any better.

Well, it wasn't significant errors that got her dismissed from this one paper, it was her style, but I'll certainly look into the tinfoil suit.

There's a time and a place; if it were me, civility would reign until the moment some liberal becomes Carville-like, and then the gloves come off. I can fire my shots (I'm a little surprised no one has commented on my Monroe-as-spittoon line, an example) and appreciate those circumstances where it seems necessary, but in column writing isn't always the place.

Ann Coulter has a habit of backing her incredibly sarcastic and humorous but true charges against liberals with lots of facts, quotes and citations, effectively exposing their critiques for what they are: whining and very nasty name-calling. Live forever, Ann.

Yep, love her, just had those concerns, that's all ...

I agreed with the Kennedy line and gave thoughts for and against her ways, not sure what else I could have done other than make some other stuff up.

My only concern about Ann Coulter is that she is not broadcast into our homes on a daily basis and published by the New York Times. She is a beacon of truth in a sea of mendacity. It's way past time for this Culture of Liberal Lies to be exposed.

In general, Carvile is wrong. But not always, and certainly not when we are caught with our hands in the cookie jar.
Certainly when it comes to core values, philosophy and so forth that reflect me, Carvile is way off base. But he does score when he connects on our shortcomings.
That's why liberals enjoy his being a jackass just as we (conservatives in general) enjoy Coulter doing her version of it.
Frankly, I think other that satisfying those who want someone out there lobbing one liners, Coulter does more to drive away those who are sitting on the fence or want to learn more. If you're already in the amen camp, then she's we've simply proven she's preaching to the choir.

Do you honestly believe that Ann would have an impact if she was on tv everynight on in the NYT? Honestly?
She would be about as sucessful as Alan Keyes was on MSNBC. No one from the general population gravitated to his show. Sure, his groupies did. But where was the big swell from his show? Didn't happen. 60% of all households have cable, yet a suprisingly LOW number sought out Keyes. People flipping through didn't even stop to see what was going on.....cause he didn't provide something they were looking for.

What has happened to FR? A 150 post Ann Coulter thread, and no pictures??????

I don't know if anyone in general gravitates to MSNBC, do they? Other than Dan Abrams, what do they have that's worth watching?
To: machman
Somewhere within the first 50, I think, there's a link to some captures from an episode of Politically Incorrect ... not that I would remember such a thing.
To: BrianS.Wise
Chris Matthews is okay; I forgot about him.
To: stlrocket
O'Reilley did say that what she said about the Kennedys was not untrue.

Do you honestly believe that Ann would have an impact if she was on tv everynight on in the NYT? I know that she sells tons of books and that she tells the truth in a very-much-needed, humorous but in-your-face sort of way. Do you think we Americans, on average, are just idiots? Should we blame the victim?
To: clodkicker
He did, but he qualified it with the consideration excepting the Kennedy women, who never seem to be caught up in the normal silliness. I can't recall his exact quote, though he referred to black sheep.

Then the mistake shine out like searchlights. It is an amazing transformation. Wow! You even provided us with a nice example of it. :-)
