The electoral defeat of Rep. Cynthia McKinney signals the end of any "special relationship" between African Americans and mainstream organized American Jewry. Plenty of Blacks will make themselves available to tell these mainstream Jewish organizations differently, but the end has come, nonetheless.
(Note my language, carefully: I did not say that we have reached the end of any relationship with "the Jews." I did not make blanket reference to "Jews" in general. "Mainstream" refers to the powerful, established, politically directed institutions that claim to speak for Jewish American concerns. They are well known, and require no listing in this brief letter.)
Many African Americans will say the final break has been a long time in the making, that the relentless attacks on affirmative action mounted by mainstream Jewish groups beginning in the Seventies sundered Black-Jewish connections, decisively. I don't think relationships among peoples are as simple as that. When old ties unravel, they make a mess of the place, leaving frays here and clumps over there. It's hard to be sure what tore when.

The guy didn't cite one example. Not one. He might have mentioned a particular publication, or TV network, or show. But he didn't. Not a single one. Just Jews this and Jews that. And those darned right wingers.

I hope they didn't pay this clown to write this.

I loved the inference that Jews are "over-represented" and the argument that Blacks hate "Jewry" as a whole, but find some individual Jews acceptable. Something along the line of "I'm not racist, some of my best friends are_____."
And the line about the silence of the Jewish press on the issue of Jews supporting one black democrat to represent them at the expense of another black democrat. Isn't it an old Yiddish saying that only a fool argues with a fool.

This is another example of the total lack of logic and indeed, racisim, on the part of some segments (primarily the liberal segments) of American Blacks.
Somehow, it seems that because Ms. McKinney's loss is blamed (in part) to white crosover voting, that racisim and 'the jews' were out to get poor cindy.
The fact that they voted for another Black, is totally ignored.
Thus what they are really saying is that cindy is somehow "more Black" because she was also more of a leftist then her opponent.
In the same vein, any Black Republican, is not reflective of the 'African American" mind set and thus is somehow less Black.
"Madness, madness...."

old ties unravel, they make a mess of the place, leaving frays here and clumps over there. Only true for nutcase psychopaths like him. Some people do not take themselves that seriously and break ties smoothly, except for leftist racist nutjobs.

That's right!! The twisted efforts of right wingers and some poorly informed Jews are not going to stop the movement of Sister McKinney and all blacks of good faith from continuing to move toward freedom and the light! That is why, in spite of what looks like a setback, we must work even harder to get Sister McKinney reelrcted to her rightful seat in November. The cross over Republicans won't be able to rig this election, so McKinney's faithful supporters will have to.
All black voters who truly know about the racists working against blacks must show their understanding by voting for McKinney. It will probably be a write in campaign. But, to show steadfastness, rejection of Jewish prejudices and right wing nastiness, VOTE FOR McKINNEY, NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES!!!

If you read his full article, he thinks old sis McKinney is an allright dude! Achh. None are so blind as those who cannot or will not see.
To: Catspaw
Just like it's always been, Catspaw. Some things never change, do they? McKinney and her ilk will keep on blaming everyone else and forget the log in their own eyes.
To: Tacis
I DO hope you're kidding, Tacis.

The irony is that both Jihad Cindy's voters and Daddy J-E-W-S McKinney's voters didn't show up at the polls. THAT'S why they lost--they diehard supporters would not vote for them.
It's about taking responsibility for one's own actions, not trying to shift the blame to someone else. Neither McKinney is capable of doing that.
