"You believe what you want. But as for me, until George Bush lays out specific, credible, verifiable, understandable evidence that Saddam Hussein poses an immediate threat to the security of the United States of America (not just to the "interests" of the U.S., as defined by power-hungry politicians), I prefer to keep my self-respect and oppose any thought of going to war. "
Bartender - I'll have a port, apple and a little cheese -
Oh - see what this man wants - I would like to buy him a drink.

What's his point? Does he even have one?
Don't attack Iraq? YOU (I'm talking rehtorically to Browne here) prove to ME saddam WON'T nuke us or help Al Qaeda nuke us in the future.
I'm SO glad I didn't vote for this man. Imagine him as president now. </shudder>

Maybe (I'm hoping) bush is waiting and using the Saudis until we have a firm base of operations in the area. This of this as a chess game.
You have to trick your enemies and have patience to win a war.

our government is in fact fundamentally untrustworthy.
Look at Bush, he's got the government's budget growing now at 13.9% annual rate. Most of the growth is non-defense and non-homeland security. Not since LBJ at height of vietnam war and great society spending explosions have we seen this. Even Jimmy Catah wasn't this bad on this statistic. Bush is a fundamentally dishonest person because he did not campaign in this manner at all.

Call me cynical. [jjm2111: "ok, you're cynical!"].
The time to glass Iraq was back in the gulfwar when they nerve gassed our troops -wich our government covered up and denied. "There is no gulf war syndrome". yatta yatta yatta.
I was opposed to the Gulf War also - who gives a rat's *ss about some islamic savage monarch's gold toilet seats? relatively secular Iraq would have been easier to deal with and probably a hell of a lot more stable.
