Here is where we part ways. A US (Christian west) invasion and occupation of Iraq won't do anything but stiffen the resolve of the religious nutcases still in power in Iraq, and give them recruits. As we have seen, their mindset is not like the western world. They look at power. We show power and resolve, they fold. The only reason that the PA has held on so long is that Israel is restrained by the European powers.

That may be true of the masses, but I doubt the Iranian leaders and intelligentsia want a nuke-armed Saddam sitting next door any more than we do. The truth is they have a LOT more to worry about if Saddam gets nukes than we do. He's killed more fundie Muslims than we have, and wouldn't hesitate to kill more. ESPECIALLY when you consider none of them have nukes, and they couldn't retaliate in kind.
BTW,this is the REAL reason he wants nukes. He wants to dominate the other Arab nations as their dictator. He KNOWS that if he were to use them against either the US or Israel that he would end up glowing in the dark.
No matter, even if Iran does see our intervention as an attack on their culture and religion we can't allow Iraq to aquire nukes.
I agree 100% with this,I just don't understand why WE should be the ones to go to war with them over it. All we would have to do is let his Arab neighbors know he is close to obtaining nukes, and that WE would't stand in the way of them going afer Iraq. They are the ones most at risk, and they are fellow Arabs. Let them take out their own trash. Our only role should be as part of a international peacekeeping effort that throws their asses out of Iraq once the dust settles, and moniters a election.

Let me see if I have this straight,ok? Are you accusing me of being un-patriotic or disloyal to America because I'm not a Bush-Bot? If the whole concept of what America is all about is this confusing to you,try to find a 5th grader to explain it in language you MIGHT be able to understand.

I saw that program too, I agree with you!
What a weasle that Graham is!

Also said that in the Presidents speech before the UN, he did not say that if the UN does not act, the US will not go after Iraq anyway. No kidding?

Did you see ABC's
Primetime Friday night? It was all about Iran and the young people.
The most astounding thing was that while they were filming, Chris Wallace was walking down the street and a woman came up to them and looked right into the camera and said, "Tell American that we want what they gave Afghanistan."
Wallace asked her if she wasn't afraid to show her face on film and she said, "No. Ninety percent of us want freedeom. I want them to hear my voice and see my face."
ABC did blur her face and voice. It was unbelieveable. We take freedom for granted.
I guess that's why Iran went door to door and took the satellite dishes when Afghanistan was freed. It looked really good on TV.

Why don't you e-mail it to Drudge, just to make sure that he doesn't miss it.

I'm glad they want to get rid of their religious nutcases, but this doesn't mean the US needs to do this for them. Let them earn their own freedoms so they will value them. People who have it handed to them on a silver platter don't have the same respect for it as do those who fight for it.
To: sneakypete
Oh, I agree with that.

AS a long time resident and native (can you claim that?) who has watched our political scene for over 20 years, you could see the transition as more Northeastern liberal demorats settled down here. In the Dade-Palm Beach-Broward fiasco zone, there has been a history of tainted ballots, fraudulant elections, and all kinds of chicanery going on. In Western Florida, we now have the problems with the demorats not just using scare tactics but being called "voter assistants" taking the elderly right up to the voting booths to "help" them vote for the "right" candidate. Unless you have been witness to the growing corruption down here, you should hold back your fire. It's growing and it's growing as the liberals increase their population base down here.

And if your point (Post 44) was correct (which it isn't), it wouldn't matter. If we decide to go in, all the resolve in the world won't change one fact, IT'S OVER>
