Isn't there something in the Geneva Convention that prevents the last you mentioned?

My God, there should be.
That's cruel and unusual punishment, even for Saddam.

Bush Doctrine: Crush the terrorist lovers in Congress, then crush the terrorist. Love it!
To: Gumption
Yep. It means that an attack on Saddam will not be preemptive but retaliatory.

Amazing what truth, strength and integrity can do. They're all walking around in a daze saying, "Wow..this isn't clinton, is it? This guy means what he says." The longer President Bush leads by example, the further back into the trash heap of history former-president Clintoon recedes.

It would help them plan their strategy! You misspelled "strategery." :)
strategery: The art and science of applying the political, economic, pyschological, and military forces of a nation or group of nations to afford maximum support to adopted policies in peace or war while simultaneously allowing the opposition side to be flummoxed by its own disingenuousness.

I wouldn't trust them to change the toilet paper holders in a public restroom.

What burns me up is little tommy d. is calling OUR President W and Tony Blair liars. He knows that those two men are not going to make up things to tell them. little tommy d. is putting party before the safety of our nation. There are others, but his position, we all know that he and little dickie g. are two of the four who get regular briefings on whats going on.

I'm more than a hawk. I'm a "pax american" kind of guy.
Establish forward staging areas to make potential enemies incapable of developing and coordinating plans.
That said, do I require some courtroom type record of evidence to justify an attack. Absolutely not!
If I reasonably believe, for example, that my life is threatened, I will react against the threat. In most cases, it will be justifiable at some level in a court. I might receive some criminal negligence or lower-level manslaughter charge, but the good news is that I'm still alive as is my family.
Nations, however, operate with a different court system. Their is no prison for those guilty of negligence or manslaughter. There's shunning, of course, but businessmen will take care of that in short order.
If I am president and I believe there is a credible threat, I take out the threat. That's what "preserve and defend the constitution of the u.s." means to me. There is wisdom in preemption.

You posted,
I do wonder why President George W. Bush didn't ever mention a specific link between Saddam and UBL. Maybe he was waiting for the right time to play the card? It has appeared for a couple of weeks that the Brits with their great code crackers and intel people have had some very solid info on Saddam and his relationship with O"Sammy Been Laden and al Qaeda!
It is so damning that the Euro trash from France and Germany don't want this data released.
So in typical stealth fashion, GW does the up front stuff in speeches here and when he officially de balled the UNers last week. Now comes the second man of the team, Tony and his Data. This is Tony's job. I have the feeling that Tony can be very brutal with his opponents in the UK and in the Euro trash countries behind closed doors when he has the data.
Also, when Tony presents the data, the pro Islamakazi rats in the Senate from Jihad Da$$hole to Leaky Leahy can't cry dirty politics before the election. Da$$hole, Leaky Leahy and the other pro Islamakazi senators have put their fellow rats up election in November in quicksand. When Tony releases this data, those up for reelection have to rush to GW's side or face crushing defeats this November. Rushing to GW's side will not help them.
We are witnessing the mastery of two great chess players, President Bush and Prime Minister Blair!
We can sit back and watch it unfold and enjoy the results!

Welcome (joined 9/10/02) DU rep. You've mistakenly neglected to say the words "Bush hasn't made his case ... yet" during
your weak defense of little commie dasshole. Please report your talking points error to your queen carpetbagger.

Excellent comments, Grampa Dave. Pres. Bush has played this hand masterfully, now its time for ACTION.
IMHO, President Bush needs to call a Joint Session of Congress next week and demand an "immediate" vote authorizing him to use whatever force necessary to remove Sodom from power.
