I was infuriated during the 2000 Presidential debacle by Beckel's goal of undermining the Constitution by cajoling electors to switch to Gore.

I do find it interesting though that he chose to take his case to the police, knowing that it would inevitably lead to his public disgrace. Sounds to me that he had been on a self-destructive course for some time.

I don't see Beckel being disgraced. To those whom it matters, disgrace is a badge of honor. Beckel will always be sought after for his abilities, nefarious though they are. To a Liberal perversion, illegality and amoral behavior is considered normal. The former fornicator-in-chief hasn't suffered very much. Barney Fag is still in Congress, despite having his squeeze running a queer call-boy operation out of his apartment. Kennedy is still in the Senate, despite his alcoholism, skirt chasing and involvement in at least one death. Algore's boy still drives drunk, but Algore hasn't suffered or been called upon as a "bad parent". Tipper is still "tipper" and a reputed drug addict.

Don't cry for Beckel. He's a Liberal. Liberals do will, wallowing in the gutters of American politics.
