NAPLES, Florida (CNN) --The Georgia woman who prompted Friday's terror scare was "flat-out lying" when she told authorities she overheard three Muslim men at a restaurant laughing about September 11 and making suspicious comments, one of the men said late Friday.

Asked if she thought the men were playing a joke on her... Uh, it's not OK to yell fire in a crowded theater. They should lock em up and throw they key away.

When you joke around you shouldn't blow through toll boths and have other people's plates on your car.Now you tell me.
To: alnick
The media reported that the men claimed to be joking. Yes. But the media was reporting hearsay. The media never talked to these three when they were reporting that. That line came from some third source.

These three ragheads would scare anybody!
The do not belong in the USA, and anyone who saw them has every right to be worried.

What if they are innocent? They're not "innocent."
This woman, eating dinner with her kid, overhears a conversation. A turban-wearing Arab doesn't like getting the evil eye, so he and his pack make some statements about 9/11 (the kid, after all, is a witness).
They blow through a turnpike turnstile, get sniffed by dogs, are uncooperative with law enforcement (a bad move), and now want us to believe THEIR story?
Sorry. They are unsympathetic figures, citizens or not. They'll be dogged, but somehow I just can't muster a tear for them.

I do feel sorry for them if they are innocent, and they were just joking. 911 is NOT a joking matter though. But their story seems to change, first they are joking, now they say the woman is lying. Like I said, I hope other witnesses come forward to corroborate this lady's story.
And you are right, anyone could pick up the phone and call, and say something like this, but why? Fifteen minutes of fame? And it might be true that the feds did tell the locals to back off. Who knows? One thing I am sure of, this is going to get investigated in a big way.
To: Lucas1
Sorry they did not change their story. Did you ever hear them say this? Nope..the media said this and they were only repeating what the POLICE said. Now the police have changed their story...apparently the guys never did joke about it. Why apparently? The report was that the men felt that the lady was looking at them suspiciously so they said that they decided to have a little fun with her. Those men were in the back of a police van for 19 hours. They probably said all kinds of contradictory things while they were in that van. Why assume that it's the police who lied? Why on earth would a police officer say something like that? The police officer and the lady are lying? It's much more likely that the men are lying.

Asked about his "suggestion" that the woman might have lied, he said, "I'm not suggesting, I'm telling you she's flat-out lying." So we're supposed to believe this woman just made up this entire story to sic the cops on some people she didn't even know, just for the hell of it. Right.

To: Lucas1
can i take a number to give them a good ass whipping? deport these clowns (if they are US citizens, revoke citizenship and then drop them in shark infested waters off of Miami) after they have had a good beating.
these guys want to be physicians, after celebrating the murder of thousands of Americans? Disconnect. Dan Rather, what's the frequency.

Cops don't back off of a case like that without a very compelling reason. The "compelling reason" is usually the threat of litigation against law enforcement -- something Muslim groups are highly skilled at. Actually, they revel in it. Note how shy and retiring the family was today -- just a bunch of fun-loving, All-American, fully assimilated patriots -- arrogantly screaming about race and prejudice, and how their brother/son/cousin/whatever's life was "ruined" by discrimination.
This is a scenario that's been playing out in every city in America since 9/11, no matter what the charge or relationship to terrorism -- including at H.Rap Brown's trial -- remember how the cold-blooded cop killer was the unjustly accused victim of prejudice because he's a Muslim? Right.
I'm glad you weren't on that jury.
To: Lucas1
One of the men said they told the police that no they did not want their car searched. Sorry but if that is not being cooperative then arrest us all. I would not agree to that either. Why would you? If you have nothing to hide? Let's not go there... You're very anxious to take these suspects' word as pure fact. Why?

What is happening here is that the grounds are being laid for a lawsuit against Eunice Stone and the Florida police.
The Muslim organizations in America are going to attempt to make it so miserable for Ms Stone and the Florida authorities that nobody else will even think of saying 'boo' to a Muslim.
Their aim is to make Muslims a privileged victim group in American society.

"I doubt it. it is kinda scary how easy it is to ruin some of these peoples lives. They are Americans afterall? Correct...that was my understanding."
Did it ever occur to you that explosives may have been in that car at one time and transferred to someone else??
Did it occur to you that they were let go so they could be followed to their contacts??
This is just as plausible as your concern for these poor american/muslim idiots who would make a joke of our country.
They are going to make very compassionate doctors. You should look them up if you are ever in need of really good medical care from jokesters.

She certainly looked very sincere and is definitely not a kook
