NAPLES, Florida (CNN) --The Georgia woman who prompted Friday's terror scare was "flat-out lying" when she told authorities she overheard three Muslim men at a restaurant laughing about September 11 and making suspicious comments, one of the men said late Friday.

One thought - if everyone comes down on Mrs. Stone (leaving out credibility on either side) How many of you if you overheard something would come forward after seeing what could happen to you? She didn't need to put her name/voice on TV.

And I suppose it won't count that her son heard it too...but these creeps MUST have said first they were joking, given the news reports yesterday, which would contradict this more recent statement. Hopefully their original statements are in the police interview transcripts.
To: Ol' Dan Tucker
Last night, at around 10:30, Orlando Salinas from Fox News said that they had denied saying anything, but finally "cracked" during questioning from the police. I was surprised to hear this, so I asked the question on this thread. Who know's the truth? We probably never will.

Whether they were joking or not, I believe the woman. No sane person would file a FALSE police report complete with LICENSE NUMBERS and give her OWN NAME.
Think about that. If the guys had been stopped due to an anonymous tip, I might give some credence to the racial angle.
But this woman went to the trouble to call the Georgia Highway Patrol on her cell phone (traceable) and gave her NAME.
This is not the act of someone who would be maliciously trying to target people merely because they looked different.

Fox also just reported that no ticket was issued for failing to pay the toll....the second car paid for both.....

Fox also just reported that no ticket was issued for failing to pay the toll....the second car paid for both..... Fox also said that authorities are now saying the men were cooperative.

I didn't at all get the impression she was seeking any kind of fame or ego boost by having her name and face on TV. She was swarmed by reporters and they are the ones who were bent on putting her name and face on TV, IMHO.

Gheith, a Palestinian born in Jordan, is a naturalized U.S. citizen who now lives in Chicago, Illinois. Butt was also born in Jordan and is a naturalized U.S. citizen living in Chicago. Choudhary was born in Detroit, Michigan, and now lives in the Kansas City, Missouri, area. So much for the initial story that the three were Iranian, Jordanian, and Pakistani, and the later story that they were Iranian, Jordanian, and Lebanese. Choudhary, from his name, could be a Moslem from either Pakistan or India, by descent. The other two are Arabs from Jordan.

Oh yes, good Dr. Scarpetta. These three hold tons of resentment toward most Americans. I wouldn't trust them to treat my dog, but pity the poor soul whose HMO has them on their list.

Anyone watch the statement of their Families?
According to their families they were able to watch these men being pulled from their car, thrown to the ground and handcuffed on TV.
Anyone see anything wrong with this picture?
Let me give you a hint, They were pulled over on Alligator Alley at one in the morning, if you have never been there at one in the morning Alligator Alley is darker then Satan's anus. Nevermind the fact that these cars were not chased ala "California Greatest Chases Caught on Video" with overhead helocopters filming every second, There is no way anyone could have or would have seen them being pulled over much less being pulled fromm a car thrown to the ground and handcuffed. Their families' story is pure bull, fodder for the cameras.
These three are in full spin mode and have been talking to their families and lawyers as soon as they were released, Cell phones do work on Alligator alley you know and they had plenty of time to start the spin cycle prior to any interviews they gave the media once they were released.
Don't believe them for one second, They screwed up and they are covering their rears as well as their careers.
But I already know this They aren't going to be in Miami any longer then to turn around and go back, The Hospital they were going to be training at said you aren't welcome here, see ya, wouldn't want to be ya, go home.
Works for me!

Definitely idiots. It amazes me that they were smart enough to get into medical school but dumb enough to go to a Shoney's in Georgia looking like that.
To: RedBloodedAmerican
I apologise for not being clear. I meant would you notify authorities that you overheard something if you thought if there was a possibility you could be wrong i.e. you could have your a$$ sued off or made out to be racist?

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure....
she's "lying"!
Right!
Hey, raghead!!! Isn't it true that the Moozlim "holy-book" declares it proper to lie to, and about, "infidels"?
He's lying. Since it's god's will and commandment (via Mohammad, the child-rapist) it's A-O.K.

As has been said, the police can't hold them for joking around on her word alone.
It's obvious to me that they were joking to scare her. It's also obvious to me that they are enjoying playing "victims" and slandering a woman.
Last night they were on CNN and they were all smirking. They think it's funny. I'd love to have hooked up a lie detector test during that interview. They were so obvious.

Here comes the pc crowd now?
Its now time for all of them to be deported.

I believe Eunice. She was only doing what the government asked. Didn't Ashcroft say we should be alert and notify the authorities of anything suspicious? Didn't the alert just go higher-to orange? The three guys will try to play the race card but it won't work. Eunice does not sound like a bigot.
The sister of one of the men was on Connie Chung. She not only insulted Eunice, but a large part of the country. She said " This happened in the South and we know the reputation the South has for racism." Eunice should sue them for slander.

"we have gone wrong with this hypenated American stuff. This guy who was born here should be on his way to making his "Arabness" disappear" I agree. New citizens must declare an oath, that they "absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or which [they] have heretofore been a subject or citizen". One is American or one is not. The hyphenating trend smacks of divided loyalties.

THANKS for your great analysis of the spin bs going on with anti-american CNN's loving nod of approval.
Great point, how would the Families have SEEN footage of their a**hole relatives being "harrassed" it was the dead of night. I never saw any footage of anything like that, and never even learned their names.
I was thinking who would even want men who think like this treating them as medical doctors. Where was their maturity and morality when they "joked" to upset that woman about Sept 11th and what's to come later, then they are uncooperative with police.
Because of their uncooperative nature - it probably made things worse and more suspicious.
Muslims in this country complain about mistreatment, but they take no responsibility to change the opinion of all of us who have learned quite horrifically what muslims do "in the name of their Islamic religion of PEACE "
These men were irresponsible and made terroristic threats, and they should be held to the standard they hold people to on airplanes, in airports etc.
In no way should people be afraid to report what they are seeing etc....
They celebrate the death of 3000 Americans, but cry like babies because their feelings were hurt for a day.
screw that!
To: Ruth A.
That crossed my mind too. You could be right. But even if it wasn't intentional on their part and they were only joking to scare her, the result could turn out that way, where some people would decide not to call about suspicious people for fear of being slandered a bigot as she was.
