Very savvy move on the part of the FL Republicans.

So where are the Dems who claimed in 2000 that Bush was to blame for the voting fiasco in Florida? Why aren't they speaking up now, when the same thing repeats?
It's awfully quiet.
It wasn't GW, GOP or Florida repubs; it was stupid Dems.
To: Rome2000
I wonder if they will have them recounted by the main election?

We want to encourage this! Let the people of Florida see how corrupt the RATS are in South Florida once and for all!

The Republican Party of Florida demands an immediate recount in Broward - forming an election oversight board is not enough - only by counting every legal vote in this election can amends begin to be made to the betrayed voters in Broward County. We must count EVERY vote, even the dimpled touchscreens. :o)

Was a GOP primary held the same day? Were there any irregularities in counting in those races?

Deja Dade, Broward, and Floriduh again and again!
When did GW and Dick Cheney know about this? It has to be their fault?
To: Rome2000
Tampa Dems - including the supervisor of elections - tried to imemdiately criticize JB for extending voting hours saying that it caused more problems than it fixed. These are Dems who are in the McBride camp and wanted a low turnout in So FL. Amazing that even when the problem is so obvious - even Reno hersalf faced issues - that some Dems are still putting their own political ambitions ahead of the common good.
The Miami political machine is faltering - a good many of the old school Dems that ran the show were put out to pasture following their failed hijacking in 2000 - many of the poll workers and activists down there are new to the game and were not up to even the simple orgnizational and administrative tasks of running a precinct.

Actually, why anyone would think voting is the right tool for choosing between two Democrats is beyond me. Just give them a knife each and lock them in the same room until a result is clear.

It's deja-vu all over again...

I said almost 2 years ago that if they just required an IQ test in which prospective voters had to score higher than the average potato, a lot of this could be avoided. I used the butterfly ballot for years. Never even occurred to me that there might be a question with it. I also used an coputerized voting machine like the new ones in Florida to vote in the 2000 primaries, first time I ever used one. The only way it could get any easier is to use one of these, and somehow I think they would still screw it up:

I'm not sure whether the appropriate response is laughter or disgust. I guess both.

Why does this ONLY happen in FL and why is it always with DEMOCRATS?
