LOCAL PHYSICIAN, WIFE ARRESTED (West Virginia Medicine)
Point Pleasant Register | 9/11/02 | Dan Hermes

Point Pleasant - The Chief of Pediatrics at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Dr. John F. Wiltz, was arrested late Tuesday night after a raid by sheriff's deputies netted 150 marijuana plants.

The Mason County Sheriff's Department, in conjunction with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, announced that a search warrant was executed at a residence on Oshel Road at 10:08 p.m.

The marijuana plants found were being cultivated in a very sophisticated indoor growing system in a room built into the garage.

"There were several timers, the lights hung down and rotated," said Chief Deputy Gordon Clark of the Mason County Sheriff's Department. "We've run into more plants before but this was pretty well planned out and sophisticated. We had information in conjunction with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department."

Wiltz, 45, and his wife, Judy, 41, were arrested and charged with the manufacture and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

"We found a small amount in the house," Clark said. "Normally, 150 plants are not for personal consumption."

Pleasant Valley Hospital spokesperson, Amy Leach had no comment.

The pair were arraigned Wednesday and released on $10,000 bond each.

Dr. Wiltz? Appropriate. Only in West Virginia do we have this kind of skilled physician. He is my nomination for the Darwin Award. To make matters worse, this fine upstanding gentleman blamed it on his wife and said he didn't know the weed was there. Grrrr. I could forgive him for the weed, but to blame his wife?......Nice man. O.K. all you legalizers have fun.

Why would a man who has been through the grueling preparation required to become a doctor risk it all for a lousy weed? I guess I just don't understand. My biggest beef with him was his blaming it on his wife. If I was his wife he would have an iron skillet skull cap.

There is always some "odd factor" to many of these articles.

However overblown the war on pot is, there seems to be a thought process problem exhibited by many of the growers, and strangely enough, it is a character flaw, not the result of puffing, unless that's an all consuming factor of their lifestyles.

Maybe they are friends of Terry McCauliffe, the Daschles and the Clintons, since al they know is lying, cheating and attempting to make fools out of the general public...

Why should a lousy weed be the imputus for the government to ruin anyone's life, let alone the life of a doctor?

The idea of any medical professional under the influence under any drug - legal or illegal - is not a cheery one, when it's your child whose life is in his hands!
