Sorry but I don't know how to start a thread with this, but 2 planes in the Philadelphia area have been escorted by F16s and made to land. One to Philly from New York to Las Vegas... a Chinese woman did not understand English and went to the bathroom after the pilot had told people to remain seated.

The 2nd plane from Portugal has been forced to land at Dover AFB and is still on the ground. There is a language problem with the pilot and he was unable to perform a maneuver the tower ordered him to do. The destination was New York.

I was just listening to Philadelphia channel 10 news (nbc) in the background and hope I have all the information correct.

So, what happened to ICAO regulations about English being the international language of aviation?! Sounds like that South American airline scenario all over again (the 727(?) that crashed on Long Island a number of years ago), but without the bad ending.
