I absolutely feel safe. The track record is that the United States is the only country to have ever used nuclear weapons. These guys just have one load and it's over. we can nuke them many times over. They have a one shot muzzloading pistol, we've got a nine with lots of clips to spare. It sounds strange to say so, but I hope it is a nuclear bomb, and that it is still there. For a couple of reasons -- if it were a dirty bomb, then the material is probably already in the U.S., meaning it can still be used. Also, a nuclear bomb is far more damaging, and easier for the public to get their minds around, given Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Any time the public is scared, with good reason, it is that much easier to justify a war. It might not even matter if it came from Saddam, or if we can prove that it did -- the mere presence of the bomb would wake America up to the fact that the danger is real, not hypothetical.

They may actually relish the fact that our nine with extra clips will ensure them 72 (do extra special 'martyr's' get 144 virgins?) virgins. And this is likely the 'specific intelligence' that caused the Homeland Defense alert level to go up. In my opinion, it should have gone to red, but perhaps they didn't want to start a panic.
