Jean Chrétien has linked the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks to perceived Western greed and arroganceThis is obvious. They do perceive us to be greedy and arrogant. It boils down to envy and covetousness.
I like to draw a parallel to Liberals and their underlying (sometimes blatant) class envy and contempt for the "rich" (e.g. "tax cuts for the rich"). Underneath the ethnic and/or religious noise, ...
Liberals and terrorists are consumed by envy.

What a friggin' moron. His country is the staging area for a lot the terrorists. The Canadians have less an idea than we do as to who is in there country.
"And I do think that the Western world is getting too rich in relation to the poor world and necessarily will be looked upon as being arrogant and self-satisfied, greedy and with no limits. The 11th of September is an occasion for me to realize it even more."
Perhaps to make things fairer we should close our border with Canada thus making them poorer. The Canadian PM then can feel better about his place in the world. Friggin' moron!

"You cannot exercise your powers to the point of humiliation for the others."
This is the complaint of all Frenchman since Crecy, Plains of Abraham, and Waterloo.
Oh, and Verdun, the Somme,...
Oh, the humiliation of it all!
He does have a point, however. If you're going to defeat an enemy, crush him absolutely, or the resentments will seep back to the surface before long.
For example, observe Chretien and his Quebecois compatriots. Defeated but not crushed by the Brits--therefore ongoing 'humiliation'. Compare to Scotland.

What do you expect for a country whose money is nicknamed loony.
Canada a Euroweenie wannabe.

Perhaps to make things fairer we should close our border with Canada thus making them poorer. Outside of Beer and Crown Royal, what exactly does Canada produce on its own and import to America? Seems if Americans stopped purchasing Canadian beer and Crown Royal their economy would collpase and the Canadian dollar would be worth about 5 cents.

Only the dollar coin is called the Looney. The 2 dollar coin is called the Twooie.

Why is the West, particularly the United States, not given any credit for humanitarian efforts whenever there is a disaster anywhere in the world? It seems that our so called arrogance is all that is mentioned lately...not just by the misguided PM of Canada. Furthermore, even if we were so arrogant, why would that be any excuse or reason for murdering 3000 people? Im sick and friggin tired of these brain dead morons in the world who seems to think so called arrogance and "muscle flexing" can even possibly morally equate to MEGA-mass murder. Those bastards were trying for a number closer to 100,000 than 3000. Im just feeling the need to rant but "BLEEP" you Chrétien

Maybe he meant Mae West or Adam West.

This is just the kind of Canadian
filth that is ruining our children. (Link is so a South Park graphic on a previous Canadian thread, where many Canadian Freepers reminded us it's just the Prime Minister and the people who voted him, not all of Canada, that's nuts.)
To: Grig
Jean Chrétien has linked the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks to perceived Western greed and arrogance and said the United States should not use its position as the world's only superpower to humiliate people in poorer nations. O.K.
Let's use our power to humiliate Canada instead.

One the of the things that bothers me regarding our aid to countries in need at time of tradegy such as flood, earthquake, volcano, etc... is that the food and material aid that is sent, though paid for by us, is often delivered in a container or sack that says its from the UN.
One of the things we did right in Afghanistan was the food aid sent there said in big letters on the containers "USA".

You really have to be mentally lost to come up with such an apathetic thought process...
Seriously....people spank their children for being this stupid.
