Kofi doesn't understand yet his unique irrelevance.
Let me give him a clue: How many divisions and squadrons do you have to stop us, Kofi?

Kofi Annan will get a rude awakening at or around 10:30 AM the 12th of September, 2002. Unlike Clinton who wanted Kofi Annan to tell him where the world was going so he could lead. President Bush will lead and the rest of the world will either follow or fall by the wayside.

U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan will tell President Bush on Thursday that only the United Nations can sanction the use of force against Iraq.
Reminding me of a little banty rooster. Mr. Annan is over a barrel. He is over a barrel because we are going to attack Iraq. His UN can either hold its nose and vote with us, or it can play games and vote it down. Mr. Annan knows that if they vote it down we are going to do it anyway and the vote will give every anti-UN voice in the United States a whole crate full of ammunition for the next 20 years. Mr. Annan knows better than to p**s off the big moneybags citizenry (that pays for most UN activities) too much.
So its going to be decision time. Does the UN want to damage itself (potentially) beyond repair in the minds of the US citizen? Or does it want to sacrifice Saddam Hussein and betray its socialist agenda for awhile to keep us happy and paying? Anti-Americanism is best served in small doses and standing in our way would be a seriously large dose right now.

Select Kofi quotes:
"But beyond that, when states decide to use force to deal with broader threats to international peace and security, there is no substitute for the unique legitimacy provided by the United Nations,"
I honestly don't know how the world got along for the 4,000 years of recorded history before we had the UN to say what fights were allowed </sarcasm>.
"Even the most powerful countries know that they need to work with others, in multilateral institutions, to achieve their aims."
It's called bilateral and multilateral diplomacy; something that existed LONG before the UN, and something that will exist long AFTER the UN.

I prefer a clue not first given by Iosef Stalin:
In what country is the UN housed (though not for much longer)?

Exactly how many troops does Kofi have at his command? Who elected him? And how many troops does Bush have?

Memo to Kofi Annan and the UN: Go to hell.
To: USA21
Annan will call for an international conference "without delay" to seek a comprehensive settlement of the Middle East conflict Reminds me of the day that Newt Gingrich took over as Speaker of the House. The Pubbies were ramming through one thing after another. Every time a Democrat stood up to offer an amendment, somebody would say, "You had forty years to do that." The UN has had at least 40 years to "seek a comprehensive settlement" of the Middle East conflict. What, now they gotta do it next week? Feh. |
