The problem was a flashback to Palm Beach County's infamous Election 2000: Voters failed to follow instructions. Some forgot to sign their ballots. Rejected. Others failed to get a witness' signature. Rejected. Still others had a witness but the witness didn't write down an address. Rejected. Rejected. Rejected. There was another problem, too -- fishy signatures. Workers review every signature against the voter's registration card, which can date back decades. One 97-year-old man signed his ballot with a signature that didn't look anything like the one on his registration card of 30 years ago. It was much clearer this time. Rejected.

Out of 11,000 so far 200 thrown out. Broward still needs more poll workers - too one sided it was ruled.

Do you know if any absentee ballots have been thrown out because the voter had trouble connecting an arrow? That's what Pinellas & Hillsborough requires. Connect the front end to the back end of an arrow with a straight line - that's how you absentee vote.
I'm wondering if they are going to challenge wavy lines or circled names. The dems will make a challenge if they're pubbie votes.

No they have to fill in spot for them to be read by optic scanner. I just went to vote and the lady that looked up my record told me she took her absentee ballot to the election office to fill it out so she wouldn't make a mistake-yikes this is a poll worker!! Poll workers were required to vote absentee they told me.No one out side not even a sign in the area.Very ,very quiet

Does the board of elections provide a straight edge with the ballot to assist with making those lines? Otherwise, I am sure the law firm Holland and McKnight have a class action suit in the making.

And of course if the voter voted for Bush "Rejected"

Gee, I[m glad I'm not a democrat. Even their candidates aren't who they seem to be. Who is this airbrushed fellow that I've never seen before in my life? This can't be Bill McLawyer because the hair color's wrong, the face is twenty years younger and the body is wrong too. WHO IS THIS BILL MCBRIDE IMPOSTER? LOL
You can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can never fool a freeper. I guess being himself just wasn't working for McLawyer. And, are these students fake too? I report, you decide.

Of course, I disagree 100% with the caption but it came with the doctored picture of McLawyer. FV

This high alert situation must really be tough for the dem candidates. They can't get any tv time. Everyone stay safe. God Bless America. September 11th, PATRIOT DAY.

My mom and I voted. There were lots of signs outside the polling place but voting was sporadic mid-morning. I was not allowed to assist my mom at the computer so instead they pulled two poll workers. If I want to help my mom ever again with the touch screen, I have to call a phone number and get permission.
That was lame because Mom and I were sharing the same sample ballot from the newspaper and I had to wait for her to finish before I could vote because she had our sample.
I complained to a poll worker that the official sample ballot had printing that was too light (blue) and too small of a font. I showed him how much better the newspaper sample ballot was. FV famous last words "Nobody over forty can read the ballot that came from the Elections Supervisor." LOL
I may go look for candidates later. The St. Pete candidates always hang around my neighborhood during the rush hour waving, etc. We're talking the major candidates - how kewl is that? I am a good sign holder and waver. Better go practice my wave. FV
