[history]
DETROIT - Sacramento Kings star Chris Webber was indicted Monday on charges he lied to a grand jury about his dealings with a University of Michigan basketball booster, an FBI spokeswoman said.
Webber, who led Michigan's "Fab Five" to within a victory of the 1993 national title, is charged with obstruction of justice and making a false declaration before a grand jury.

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

So they're going after something nine years old? Payback for his lackluster performance against Lakers in playoffs this year, IMHO.

I'm from MI & am a huge U of M fan. That said, he's lied about numerous things, including taking money from Martin. Although I know it will never happen,I hope they throw his a** in jail. My guess is his aunt goes instead...

It's just about basketball. Everyone lies about basketball. It's time to move on.

Robert Traylor, now with the Charlotte HornetsThe author of this article obviously doesn't keep up with the NBA. There is no such team as the Charlotte Hornets now ...... they moved to New Orleans.

Doesn't Webber understand that only the first black president can do this sort of thing and get away with it?His arrogance (and that of the Sac Kings) during the past year on this issue has been totally appalling. He should be indicted for income tax evasion but this indictment shows the true character of "professional" sports. I include college football in the meaning of professional.

In my humble opinion.

If Webber's aunt has a jump shot, she might not! She could challenge the Judge to a game of Horse.

Man do I remember that play. I lost a buck to my buddy on that one. Being a longtime Houston Cougar fan, I know about violations regarding college players. Webber is too heady a player to have made a mistake as stupid as that. To me, it smelled to high heaven as soon as he did it. We lost to N.C. State in 83-84 in the finals because Dream didnt get back and guard the basket. If I may say so, it was a simple fk up. Webber went in the tank. Burn him.
