Tom Burnett Sr. said his son would have laughed at the thought of having his high school football jersey retired. Tom Jr., after all, was a steady quarterback, but not a superstar by any means.
He was a leader more than anything, someone who knew how to take charge without having to raise his voice. A guy you could count on regardless of the situation.
