Man Charged In Spatula Attack

Suspect Allegedly Beat Customer
WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -- A New Hampshire man who owns a gas station in Springfield, Vt., as pleaded not guilty to charges that he threw raw hamburger at a customer and beat the man with a spatula.
Atta Ullah, 35, of Claremont, N.H., denied charges of aggravated assault this week.
Police said that Ullah attacked customer Justin Geiger with a commercial spatula. According to court papers, the incident happened after Ullah ordered Geiger to stop reading a magazine, and Geiger threw the magazine back into the rack.
Geiger, who is 20, suffered a finger injury.

A spatula is actually a little broadsword! From the German
Spatha, later adopted by the Romans as better than their little
gladius. The
-ula part is a Latin diminutive. The Emperor
Caligula was named for his "little boots." Caligus = boot.
No wonder you get in trouble for hitting people with a spatula!
