The kel-tec was actually recommended to me by the female co-owner of a local gun shop. She's tiny and keeps it in her pants pocket. At the risk of sounding like the "gun snob" my husband .45MAN accuses me of being, I didn't like it because it reminded me of a water pistol. ;-)

I've handled the Taurus PT111. I had a hard time racking the slide. Also, the trigger action was way too long and felt sloppy.

The ultralite you have is a good looking revolver. That would be a real style change for me as I have only handled semi-autos. We're trying to keep the loads at 9 mm and .45 because the plan is to one day reload our own. To make things easier, I tried to find a .45 I liked. I tried several out at the range. My recovery time from the recoil is too long. I can rapid-fire a 9mm with much more accuracy.

Once again, I appreciate all of the input!

I had a Taurus PT-140.. It was.. ok. Best thing about it was the capacity and ease of cleaning.

If you want to stick with 9mm, I'd say try and go with a Glock 26. Perhaps a Glock 36 .45 would be ok? It's gonna kick heavily however...

Sounds like you like the Glocks, and like 9mm/.45's. In that case, the G26 or G36 seem like very good choices.

The good thing about a revolver though.. You don't have to practice so much with 'carry loads'(ie expensive ones)..

A semi-auto, you want at least 150-200 of the rounds you'll carry with you, without a failure. Good luck on your choice!

Don't worry! Once you start reloading, you will collect dies and calibers indefinitely. We started with .45 ACP, and (without going upstairs and checking the shelf) here are the dies we have now: .45 ACP, .45 ACP carbide competition, .45 Long Colt, .455 Webley, .41 Magnum, .38 S&W, .38 Super, .380 auto, .25 auto (just to prove we can do it!), plus all the rifle calibers . . . .308 Win regular and competition, .303 Brit full size and neck only, 30/30, 30'06, 7mm Mag, .348 Win, 45/70 Govt, think that's all! Dies are like potato chips . . . you just always gotta have another . . . :-D
