Well, I would take the backstraps, too. Who is going to stop you? You are still donating 90% of the meat to the needy, even if you do keep the best cuts for yourself.
Don't bind the mouths of the bowmen who tread the grain, ah, er, harvest the deer, or something to that effect. :-)

So are you guys game?I'm not, but the deer should be. I don't hunt, but I'll gladly send my relatives in... should be good for taking down 100 deer at least, but they won't be happy about having to donate the meat.
Yes, I do have a lot of deer-hunting relatives, why do you ask?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
why do you ask? Ummmm.....just because you hate deer the way I hate squirrels. :)
To: Overtaxed
hehe, it was a rhetorical question. :)

Doh!

I do hope this passes. A week ago Sunday, we hit a deer on the way to Church - totaled my car, scared me out of my skin.
We live in Calhoun County, MI, which is notorious for deer accidents. Thankfully, this was the FIRST time after 12 years of living here. Thankfully, hubby was driving. I would NOT have handled it as well as he did!
PETA needs to get a grip on saving Bambi.

I do hope this passes. Me too! This place is about 7 miles from me (as the car dodges the deer). Some of the backroads I drive have lots of hills and curves...you never know when one will be there! So far I've hit one deer, had one deer hit me (ran me down from behind!) and several near misses. And then there's the hostas and impatiens.....

Glad your ok. I missed a collision with a doe darting across the road this morning by about a 1/2 second.

This guy saying no one likes to shoot deer I can come up with millions of people every fall that get great enjoyment from shooting and killing deer.
