He is national and he used to be a guest-host for Rush, until he got his own national show. Rush is very insecure about such things. He won't let anyone with a national show guest-host for him.

Don't think Rush's "insecurity" has any thing to do with.

I doubt Rush feels threatened at all.

I would be willing to bet that the syndicator's don't want it because due to tape delay broadcasting, time zones, etc., there's a real possibility that Medved could be competing with himself.

On some markets, they do overlap. It's neither practical, nor does it make sense to have a syndicated host who has his own show fill in for someone else. What does it say for an established (re: nationally syndicated) talk host when he fills in for someone else?

Also, Station "A" that carries Medved would not like it if Station "B" (their competition down the dial) had him on at the same time. They pay good money for Medved's services, why should someone else get him for free?

That's not true Rush Noon-3:00 pm and Sean 3:00-6:00 pm both come out of 770 WABC NYC
