Music to Remember -- It is September 2002
Gotta Hear This [ENYA.mp3 3 Megabytes]
"What is more dangerous than Saddam or Al-Qaeda?"
THE ANSWER IS:
Failing to learn from their terroristic past
-- and having to repeat it.

Would that I were 19 again. I'd march that road to Baghdad!
Well actually I'd rather be flying a stealth and stickin' a bomb right up Saddam's @ss!!!

"When you have them by the balls, their hearts and minds will soon follow." I'm ready to see mushroom clouds over our enemies.

I'll be honest here. Almost 1 year later, and I still can't handle watching this. I don't know what else to say. I just can't without becoming unstably enraged. I feel exactly the same. I started watching the slide show and had to turn it off. My BP was going through the roof.
The people WILL defend this Country, if the government can't.

If our government won't do it, it's going to be up to us. The next attack will decide it. I think WE are going to end up closing our borders, rounding up the offending parties and taking back our nation.

I have lost my optimism on this war and this administration You'll regain it shortly when we lay waste to our enemies in overwhelming fashion. Guaranteed.

After a year, when I see the towers come down I still cry, but by the time they hit the ground I feel the same rage. My rage won't ease, I want revenge. I want to hurt them and hurt them bad.

I have a similar photo showing a hugh bomger type airplane (a B52?) and its load of weapons, all laid out in front of it. The caption says: The terrorists have won the toss and have elected to receive (the bomb).

"Inviting Prince Bandar to Crawford?"
You have no idea why he was invited, do you? But ... YOU have chosen to believe the worst.
I agree with those who say there is a lot more going on than you can see on the surface. Also, this admin plays their cards close to their chest - in other words, they don't reveal everything they're doing.
We were so used to the Clintons telling everything they were doing - just to get the press showing how they were so involved.
This admin is not like that (thank God), and they make plans and move mountains without needing any of the press or applause.
So ... it is YOU. Just because YOU have lost faith, does not mean there is nothing going on.
I have family in the military, and I can tell you - there is plenty going on. It's just not public and it will not be public until the admin is ready to move.

Don't be so hard on him. He's got a point. How outraged were you after the first WTC bombing in '93?
I know I was outraged. What really bothered me was how easily everyone forgot about it and how clintoon did nothing in retaliation. A woman who was 7 months pregnant with her first child was killed in that bombing (not to mention the other five that were also killed).
My husband, son and I visited the WTC in July of 2000. We took the elevator up to the observation deck. I prayed all the way up - it may sound stupid - but I never forgot the '93 attack and I was positive that it wasn't the last.
I remember standing on the observation deck, looking down at the other skyscrapers, thinking how horrible it would be to fall from that height.
People I talked to prior to 9/11 thought I was nuts for being worried about another terrorist attack.
Nothing has changed. The same people think the same way - even after this atrocity. It never ceases to amaze me how easily people forget the past. Maybe it's just too horrible to remember, so they block it out.
I will never forget. I agree with a lot of the things this poster said and it says a lot about human nature. But I will never forget!
I do have confidence in this administration - no matter what the media says, I think President Bush is on top of this.
The war on terror is one that we'll be fighting the rest of our lives. It's only just begun.

I'm not sure where you have been for the past year but it has not been in the USA!!! No way you and I see this nation and its people the same, you are way mistaken.

I think you are a naysayer. I also think there is a HUGE surprize in store for said "naysayers". I hope that you are right. And until recently I felt the same way.
But at this point, I begin to wonder - is the President and his administration pulling a fast one on the whole world by pretending to have a muddled message, to not have a clear policy on how we will deal with terrorists and the nations that harbor them? Is this a big deception plan - or does it appear that way because that is the way it is?
But here is why I have become, if you will, a naysayer - I posted it before, and besides those posters who have questioned my patriotism and/or willingness to defend the country (to answer your questions, I am a former US Army Bomb Disposal Officer, and I worked the anti-terrorist beat in the Mediterranean), noone seems to have answered my questions:
Afghanistan is releasing hundreds of Taliban and al Quaeda prisoners in exchange for some petty thieves held in Pakistan. Our response is? Saudi Arabia paid money to bin Laden post 9/11. Our response is?
They pay money to Palestinian suicide bombers' families. Our response is?
Germany withholds information on terrorist suspects. Our response is?
Egypt, which is the recipient of a billion or so of our tax dollars annually opposes US action in Iraq and our support of Israel in the same war on terror we are supposedly engaging in. Our response is?
The al Aqsa Martyr's Brigade - a part of Yasir Arafat's Fatah organization - killed 5 Americans in Israel. Our response is?
I continue to say that perhaps among the Freepers it is settled - this we will defend. But I do not beleve that it is settled among the country as a whole.

Last week I was driving to the gym down a two lane road. In front, on the right is a house with a pond next to the road, which goes forward with trees on both sides. I saw a big bird flapping, flapping taking off, then I could see that it had something in his claws. The bird couldn't gain height, so had to fly right above the road and I gained ground on it rapidly, I wanted to see what it had. Well, I passed under it, it wasn't more than two feet above the roof of the ol' Windstar. Turns out it was an eagle and it was carrying a good sized goldfish, at least 3 pounds. Very interesting.
