"It's not good enough to teach the kids ebonics, we have to make sure they don't learn english. "
Worth repeating.

She began looking for a synonym for "stingy." The children's dictionary offered "self-centered." But Ms. Bell said most of the children already knew that word. Excuse me, stingy doesn't mean self-centered.It means giving or spending grudgeingly. Miserly. I know people like that. They aren't only niggardly about their money, they won't give of their time either.

Seems like Rush trolls F.R.
He stole my "Spic and Span" joke (see WAY above).
If so, I'd be honored.

Ping. Akwana Walker was just on Hannity and Commie about this. She didn't seem like a moron but a lib kool aid drinker to the tenth power. Just parroted the lib taliking points. "Awkk racism". I hope there aren't many like her.
In other words she is just being
niggling about it all.

An update:
School Board Meets To Discuss Teacher's Use Of Disputed Word
POSTED: 6:42 a.m. EDT September 10, 2002
WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The New Hanover County Board of Education wants the superintendent to meet with a teacher and her principal regarding the use of the word "niggardly" in a fourth-grade classroom.
The board's attorney made the announcement last night after an hourlong closed session with the school board.
Williams Elementary School teacher Stephanie Bell was recently reprimanded for teaching the word "niggardly," which means stingy or miserly, to her class. She had to send parents a letter of apology and agree not to use the word again.
The reprimand came after the parent of one of her students complained to the principal. Akwana Walker says the word "niggardly" offended her because it sounds like a racial slur.
Several parents spoke on behalf of the teacher at the meeting.

Hmmmm. Wonder if the word 'bigger' was on any vocabulary list.... Of should I just call it the 'b' word so's not to cause offense. After all it's only one letter different.
To: gitmo
I think I will add the word to my vocabulary and use it more often. I have used it but not too much.

Liberals feel good when they think they're taking a stand against racism, whether the racism is real or imagined. And if some innocent person's life or career gets trashed in the process, that's okay, too. Imagined good intentions agained being applied to that well traveled road to Hell.

Guess we should stop saying "grease" No, but how can any sensitive person refer to those Western African countries as Niger and Nigeria? What an insult to Blacks.

The word is well-known as being confused with a term of derogation. As such, the teacher should have left the word for upperclass pupils. The school board should write that into its harassment and affirmative action documentation.
Teachers should not use that word, do you agree, teacher? We believe in affirmative action. Answer in the affirmative or we will take action.
