It's the lying that passes me by. If that's
the way they want to run the club, be
honest about it. It is exclusionary. We
can deal with that. If they feel the need
to lie about it, that tells a story, too.
I agree, it does, The story it tells is that they're trying to avoid an attack. one they don't deserve, by other liars, who are also thieves and con/shakedown artists. If I had a terrorist with a gun at my head asking me if I was a Jew, and I was one, I'd lie my tail off.
If you have a gentleman's golf club--as opposed to a more family oriented facility--why would it even occur to you to admit a woman? One doesn't need an exclusionary policy, not to change the character of your club. You are implying that they have an unstated, negative rule. Looking backwards from this off the wall attack, that may seem to be the case. But this is an off the wall attack. Was it anticipated in 1933, or whenever the club was set up. I don't think so. The idea of admitting women to men's clubs and men to women's clubs is part of the post Lyndon Johnson, "Great Society"--a true historic aberration, which America needs to be done with.
