The Federal Aviation Administration is considering a ban on international flights landing in New York City on September 11 and the following day as well.
Due concern over new terrorist attacks on the one-year anniversary of the World Trade Center attack, flights from oversees would be prohibited from flying over the citys airspace or landing in local airports during certain hours on those two days. The initiative would not restrict any domestic flights, so would primarily affect Kennedy and Newark airports.
The FAA plan also calls for prohibiting international flights from landing within 30 miles of Washington, D.C. for that period.
Some critics have said the proposed measure would be a major inconvenience for travelers and cause undue anxiety.
Anyone.....?
Hmm. Someone over at NY1 is having trouble with their homonyms today.
This just sounds like another "sounds good but accomplishes nothing but inconvenience and a reduction of revenue" measure to me.
The fact is and the fact remains, all the planes that were hijacked and crashed on 09-11-01, were domestic flights.
Hello, you idiots at the FAA, wake up.
Makes sense to me.
