Clearly you have never been deep into a highly complex program trying to get it to work.

I have to do business with Sprint. I would prefer not to have to do business with them.

"Clearly you have never been deep into a highly complex program trying to get it to work." I've seen more complex programs than I care to remember sonny. What I'm critical of is the way you come across in your post about American citizens being deceived, dumped and -- let me be frank -- shit on by supposedly American companies. You seem to feel that they deserve this because they have "aged" (oh how ghastly). ATT & IBM should just relabel themselves the Indian Telephone & Telgraph Company and the Indian Business Machines corporation and settle there permanently since Americans are so "aged." I invite you to make the move yourself too! Cordially yours.

I carried a bag for about 18 years, then went through PSR, SE, and Sales, until I got to RETIREE, which is the only decent job left in the company. I DON'T go to work for them (except as a subcontractor, occasionally) and they pay me every month.
Regarding IBM's businesses, they have bought and sold many, with varying degrees of success. Toledo Scale, Simplex Time Recording, and Lexmark are going concerns, Rolm didn't do so well. And they almost gave away their PC advantage, which loses money or barely breaks even.

And they almost gave away their PC advantage, which loses money or barely breaks even.Let us not forget that little item called DOS. IBM certainly did not negotiate that deal to their advantage.
