I have long thought that John Kerry is wrong on Vietnam. I don't mean wrong 30 years ago, when, as a decorated combat veteran, he returned from Vietnam and became a leading antiwar activist. I mean wrong in the years since, when he has been, with John McCain, the Senate's foremost advocate of normalized relations with Vietnam.

Whats up with that? Do they, and you, think communism is a good thing? Perhaps they are not representing our country and what they do doesn't really matter, unlike Kerry and McCain?
I'm not so sure Kerry's approval (or disapproval) over anything *a'tall* would make any difference whatsoever influencing these communist thugs, truth be known.
The Vietnamese are hard-core communists & know what it means -- & when -- to "break a few skulls" to maintain their iron fisted grip in the Socialist Worker's Paradise they've made for themselves, there.
Moreover, not to single-out Kerry or anything -- admittedly he's as useless as tits on a bull -- but these particular communists couldn't care less what the entire US Senate emasse does with respect to them or their internal politics any more than the goons entrenched in North Korea do.
We witnessed that much from both wars, didn't we?
Above this matter, though?
I'm still scratching my head, trying to figure out how anything other than hard-core Liberal-Socialist party line prattle winds-up getting past the Editor at the Bostone Globe, & into print.
...whadda they fishin' around for at the BGlode, one has to wonder?
A round-a-bout, back door sort of approach maybe???
Granted, there are other countries whose atrocious human rights records have not barred normal relations with the United States (So why not Viet Nam???). China and Saudi Arabia are two prominent examples. But the crimes and cruelties of those governments are often denounced in this country, and the nature of our relations with them continues to be a subject of debate(So we could just let 'em in and rag on 'em, too???)(for all the good it does).
Kerry and McCain are not the first members of Congress to make the diplomatic rehabilitation of a despicable regime their personal crusade(Old news???). A ''Cuba working group'' on Capitol Hill has undertaken something similar for the dictator in Havana. But Castro never invaded a US ally or excruciated American POWs(Aha, so Fidel isn't so bad after all???).
What he's really saying, without really saying it: China, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Cuba, etc, aren't so bad, and VN is only a teensy bit worse??? I dunno Lan, maybe I'm seeing ghosts.
FGS
HA!!
I don't think so, my friend.
Your's are among the sharpest of all eyes, 'round here.
I thought something similar myself at first, too.
Then I realized it was merely another phantom flip-flop by one of the Liberal-Socialist sycophants of our parasitic Lamestream media.
Yessiree, & doing what the whole damnedable bunch have done so well over the past few decades.
Namely distorting, misrepresenting, spinning, misinforming, omitting -- & their all-time favorite journalistic "technique" -- outright lying; and, in any order which suits themselves & always under cover of their own amendment.
Sweet, huh?
An amendment written by honorable people specifically for honorable people; who, turned right around & horribly twisted the spirit & meaning to fit their OWN Liberal-Socialistic Utopian *agenda*.
They've simply used our own words against us.
The bastards.
Now I'd tell ya how I really feel; but, as I said??
Your's are among the sharpest of eyes; so, further belaboring the point -- to you anyway -- is completely unnecessary.
In any event the punk-journalist behind this bilge??
Is as far as I'm concerned merely another in a very long line of Liberal-Socialist Odysseuses.
Certainly never to be trusted; regardless, of what they may "say" on a given day.
...at Word#1 from this ilk, is where I stop these days.
