Rift between blacks, Jews worries Democrats for fall

WASHINGTON - The intensifying violence in the Middle East is straining relations between black and Jewish leaders in the United States, with potentially serious consequences for the Democratic Party.

The conflict between two of the party's strongest support groups - which have a history dating to the civil rights era of working together - threatens to harm the Democrats' chances of regaining control of Congress this fall, analysts say.

Black and Jewish Democrats in Congress have been working quietly for months to try to repair the growing rift between African-Americans, who resent efforts by Israel's supporters to defeat black incumbents, and Jews, whose interest groups have in recent months helped oust two black lawmakers they considered anti-Israel.

The Democrats are worried about LOSING Americans from their party.

They SHOULD be worried that they support terrorists.

Uh, no. Catholics are approximately evenly split. Black and Jewish votes significantly favor the Dems.

Blacks are 14% of the population (Probably a smaller number of registered voters).

At least 90% of Blacks vote for RATS.

Jewish voters are a much smaller percentage of registred voters (3%?) But, again, a large majority of them traditionally vote for RATS.

Catholics used to be the Democratic base. They were and still predominate as blue color/union workers. However they have been abandoning the Democrats for decades. They recently have split their vote almost evenly between the two parties. I believe there was a majority for Reagan.

Of course this supports your basic point. How could a supposedly strongly pro-life Catholic vote pro-abortion Democrat? In a word, Cardinal Bernadine, and his extreme liberal, homosexual criminal cover-uppers within the American church that have been selling the seamless cloth BS. Can you believe they equate the handfull of vicious murderers that finally get hit with capital punishment to that of 1,400,000 innocent babies killed each year.

Unfortunately, thse same union people are the recipients of our dummed down educational system.

Godspeed, The Dilg

As far as as voting block goes, Jews represent a very small percentage of the U.S. population, but they wield enormous influence.

There has always been an uneasy relationship between the black and Jewish communities. Sharpton, J. Jackson and Farrakhan have all made anti-Semitic remarks. The rift has thus far been papered over in the pursuit of power.

But the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, specifically the growing support for a Palestinian state will create a chasm. The U.S. black community, esp. black leaders and the Congressional Black Caucus are sympathetic to Muslim countries in the Middle East and Africa which seek the annihilation of Israel.

The result of this growing chasm will likely accomplish one or both of these:

1. Cleanse the Democrat Party of its most liberal, pro-Palestinian members (as McKinney was cleansed), or

2. Drive American Jews into the Republican Party.

Either or both of those scenarios benefit the conservative movement.

Democrat Party is made up of many extremist political factions. It takes all of them working together to win. Take any one of these factions out and you lose 3 or 4 very important percentage points which can cause a loss in any close race. If any one faction were to switch sides or just fail to show up at the polls you could see a loss of 30 to 40 seats in Congress.

In this case, "base" means being able to claim at least 90% of the voters with almost no effort on your part. Catholics are no longer in that group, even though the democRATS can still easily get 50-60% of their vote. Blacks, OTOH, at least in the largest cities, are giving 120% of their vote to the RATS.

Jews are a prized voting block because of the vast amounts of money and influence a small group can bring. The RATS figure they can never lose the black vote, but they have to hustle to keep the Jewish vote without offending blacks. I wish them utter failure with both.

Right on the money! Also, don't forget that the unions are losing their grip on their membership. AlGore found that out big time when the blue collar workers voted to protect the RKBA rather than listening to the AFL-CIO.

Without this core support group, the Democrats are ceasing to be the party of the working class and are becoming the party of freaks and geeks.

If Rev. Al mounts a "serious" campaign (I put that in quotes, because it seems on the surface to be such a self-apparent absurdity), the "moderate" Dems are gonna be dying on the vine...

Sorry--you're wrong about Catholics being the Scumocrat's base. Catholics-in-name-only (like Paul BUGala, Little Tommy D@sshole, Teddy No Pants, etc.) are Scumocrats. Catholics who go to mass more than twice a a year and actually LIVE their faith are Republicans.

The same can be said for BINOS (Baptists in Name Only) like The Face Biting Rapist and Action Jack$$on, and JINOS (Jews in name only) like Joe LIEberman and Russ " Partial Birth Abortions R Us" Feingold.

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

"It puts black voters in a bind because you could end up with some people in the Congress who are black but who don't represent the broad mainstream views of the black community,"
Actually, that is what we have now. It puts black "leaders" in a bind because they might get thrown out on their butts when given a choice between a black candidate that shares the views of the black community or a black leader who shares the view of radical leftists.

This is exactly what is happening. In the final analysis the hamhanded attempt to keep both groups in the tent will fail. Many Jews, I feel will start voting conservative on foreign policy matters and this means Pubbie candidates and deciding that being Jewish is more important than being liberal.

While on the Black side of the aisle the old Civil Rights elites will fall to demographic pressure (younger, more conservative African leaders that dont owe their existance to Govt jobs or handouts for power). This transistion will appear to happen very slowly if @ all but when it does happen we could see a return to the days of 60/40 splits as soon as the next two Presidential cycles(ie Nixon/Kennedy 1960) and the end of CBC as a liberal focus group

No way. Catholics are somewhat evenly split between Republicans and Democrats. The Democratic base is a mish-mash of minorities, gays, some union folks, environmentalists, and radical feminists. I don't know if normal people actually vote for them.
