So please correct me, I thought that if the HFD determined that it was Arson, then they would assign it to the HPD. It isn't that way?

NO, it stays with Arson. Most of the time HPD doesn't even have a file on it.

One of my posts got lost and it might have been my response to you. Hmmmmm...... so I will answer this again.

The Fire Department has jurisdiction over fire related deaths, etc. The Pd is only involved if they are asked to be. I wrote a rather lengthy reply to someone and it didn't get posted.
