For the second time in two weeks, the scientist went before a throng of reporters outside his lawyer's office to profess his innocence and decry the attention from law enforcers that he contends has destroyed his life.

Yeah, well.. he should go after the FBi hammer and thongs. And keeping in the public eye may well keep him alive, as well.

I've been given to understand that Barbara Hatch Rosenberg, the woman whose report is underpinning much of the witch-hunt against him, is actually an old girlfriend of his who has been after him for years. You have been misinformed. Hatfill claims he has never met the inimitable media darling, Barbara Hatch Rosenberg, and has no idea why she would accuse him.

But, then, he's only the fourth guy she's accused...

Wrong. Hatfill has stated emphatically, at both his press conferences, that he has never met Rosenberg. I'm sure that he wouldn't lie about something as easily disproved as that, in his position.

Rosenberg is a leftie, and she's going after rightwinger Hatfill for ideological reasons. I'm really disappointed by how many people on this thread seem to accept the lies of the FBI and the media.

Yesterday he stated he had never met her, so your information is incorrect.

I watched the news conference, and Hatfill is either the best liar I've ever seen in my life (BeezleBubba included), or is innocent. I think he's innocent.

Hatfill is seriously pissed at Ashcroft and the FBI. I believed him when he said he was originally glad when Ashcroft was appointed AG...he sounds like a good conservative just like most of us...might even be a FReeper. He expressed serious concerns about the Patriot Act that many of us have voiced, and caused me to change my mind from thinking the Patriot Act was a necessary evil to thinking it is a serious threat.
