No blind obedience (BARF ALERT)
Chicago Sun-Times ^ | August 23, 2002 | Joan M. Krysinski, Crete

Posted on 08/23/2002 4:40:50 PM PDT by Chi-townChief

As an American given the freedom to dissent, I do not and will not support a pre-emptive attack on Saddam Hussein and Iraq. I will not be diverted by a failing administration into believing that the unfinished business of the father needs to be taken care of by the son.

I do not and will not support any program that encourages spying on my fellow man, neighbor, friend or stranger. Big Brother was a fictional scare tactic meant to instill fear, not to gather information.

I do not and will not support a farm subsidy program, which is neither wanted nor deemed sensible in the eyes of the very rural communities it hypocritically serves. Let farmers have a true voice in government, not just Republican lip service.

I do not and will not support an educational program that is designed to undermine the public school system through vouchers designed for the already privileged, and calculated to be meaningless to the impoverished.

I do not and will not support any government tax cut or law that benefits the already rich and remains a token to the middle class or poor. My $300 ''tax break'' has added to the national debt, while my individual retirement portfolio has suffered under economic stresses promulgated by domestic greed and global unrest.

I do not and will not support the curbing of any freedom that is a ''temporary restriction'' of a civil liberty guaranteed to me as an American citizen, even if it is a knee-jerk overreaction to terror, injustice, cruelty or inhumanity. As Benjamin Franklin said, ''They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.''

I do not and will not support any war on terrorism, internal or external, any more than usual; one which I will continue to be engaged in along with my support for a war on poverty, a war on ignorance, a war on disease, a war on prejudice and a war on stupidity. When all the wars that feed into terror are eliminated with as much vigor as evidenced by our current military endeavors, then will I support one ideology of war above another. Until then I remain an average American in search of peace for my children and grandchildren.

I normally wouldn't post a letter to the editor unless it's by some "notable" but this is interesting because this babe is a great example of a "soccer mom" who buys the Demo-crap hook, line, and sinker. I especially like how she pays lip service to our freedoms and then throws in this paragraph:

"I do not and will not support any government tax cut or law that benefits the already rich and remains a token to the middle class or poor. My $300 ''tax break'' has added to the national debt, while my individual retirement portfolio has suffered under economic stresses promulgated by domestic greed and global unrest."

I'm convinced that we need to make income taxes voluntary so folks like Ms. Krysinski can pay as much as they want.

She'd "like" to give more (if she could financially afford it) but on a voluntary level she'd probably contribute nothing and still expect a rebate.

my support for a war on poverty, a war on ignorance, a war on disease, a war on prejudice and a war on stupidity.

I guess Joan is at war with herself, then. With her remark about her retirement account, she sounds like another rich person with a guilty concsience about her success.

As an American given the freedom to dissent by far better people than me who bought it with their lives in battle against foreign tyrants and often overwhelming odds, I'm gonna sit here on my a$$ with my head in the sand until Saddam Hussein or some other terrorist SOB turns the Loop into the Night of the Living Dead with a smuggled-in dirty nuke, and then I'll whine that evil President Bush didn't do enough to protect my worthless hide.

I'm really tired of seeing propaganda like this. Is this one from Anti-War.com also?

Okay, thanks for your Statement of Dissent, honey. It has been duly noted. Now go finish dinner while the rest of us do the actual work necessary to ensure you remain alive to issue your pronouncements.

along with my support for a war on ignorance, a war on prejudice and a war on stupidity...

Sorry, toots, but by making this statement you've proven the war on ignorance, prejudice and stupidity has already been lost as far as members of your class are concerned. Our only hope is that your children will grow up as free thinkers instead of being indoctrinated by their parents.

PS: Why haven't you ever taken any vacations to Muslim countries, baby? Don't you care that women there suffer immeasurably every single day of their lives due to ignorance, prejudice and stupidity? Oh, that's right. You've already got yours here in the Land of the Free, so the rest of the women in the world can just go screw themselves. Truly, you are one of the most sincere, caring people on the planet.

With her remark about her retirement account, she sounds like another rich person with a guilty concsience about her success.

Hmm ... I interpreted it as a subconscious admission that she's a greedy harridan who's pissed off because she played all the "sure bets" during the late '90s fraud bubble, and now has to pay the price because she didn't cash in when things reached blatantly unsustainable levels. There was far more domestic greed and global unrest during that time - the CLINTON Administration, of course - but back then she was perfectly happy, because she was sharing in the greed. Karma's a bitch, ain't it Joanie?

Here let me help you Joan:

"I will not think for myself, or support any position that hasn't been approved by the New York Times Editorial Staff.

I will not accept responsibility for my own actions when there are plenty of other people around for me to blame.

I will not acknowledge the failure of every liberal policy in the last 50 years when the self deception of blaming others is so much more appealing to my ego."

Anyone else have a few handy suggestions for Ms. Krysinski?

"Anyone else have a few handy suggestions for Ms. Krysinski?"

Ms. Krysinski, you don't need to queue up in this Kool-Aid line - put some wash in, leave a check for the pool boy and go to the soccer game.

You would think after Nuremberg - "I was only following orders" - and James Jones - the prefix "neo" would have been removed from our lexicon - what you are about to see for the balance of this thread is not going to be pretty -
so get out of the house, enjoy your family and for one let me say that you are most certainly entitled to your opinion - one of which I share.

I've got to get me one of those posters for over the bar - near the Murphy bed and right next to the trading card collection.

Don't apologize for posting. Every time that I'm feeling low or that I can't compete in today's society, someone like you posts an article spotlighting idiots like Ms. Krysinski. I feel very intelligent by comparison. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Absolutely tap-dancing right. The minute you guys highlighted the part about the "portfolio", I knew the fix was in.

In the end, all she gives a rat's ass about is her retirement portfolio. The rest is just window dressing and bullcrap designed to show us that She Cares. Typical f#%king limousine liberal ass clown. These people are useless.

She talks as if her dissent is important. It isn't. Nobody cares because everyone knows that the crazy rat-bastard Islamic Nazis are out to nuke us to Kingdom Come. But since everyone is a hero in their own autobiography, I guess this lady gets to pretend that she is bravely resisting the Secret Police of the Bush Reich who are, at this moment, knocking at her door.

Liberals are, in essence, ass clowns. They just don't know it. Especially when they are talking with each other.

Be Seeing You,

Chris
