Mr. Fleischer said the media's preoccupation with a prospective war against Iraq allows the administration to discuss various sensitive subjects with little or no scrutiny by the press.

Someone even faintly worthy of the title journalist would have jumped all over this statement and asked about something .... anything .... but Iraq. But they can't give up their own agenda. Heaven forbid that they report on what is actually happening rather than trying to stir up trouble!

Let's see now......I seem to recall one Presidential press conference when the dead horse Harkin was beaten to a pulp......

The sad thing is that these trouble stirrers apparently aren't smart enough to realize what they're doing.

btw, can anybody check to see if the network news even report on the President's speech today, let alone tell the truth about the rip roaring California response to it? If I were a betting woman.......
