The mother was in the house as the little boy was being murdered. She stayed until the husband left, with the possibly dead boy. She didn't bother to call 911, until she was 7 hours away.
The woman should go to jail as an accessory to murder. Her three children were also there during the murder.

Ok..here's one example where I'd rather have seen this kid with Michael Jackson than with his own father.

What a horrible event! California is a dangerous place for children. Where are all the child advocates in that state? Why was a convicted sex offender allowed access to many children?
Hope they get a new governor soon. Someone with higher priorities than Gary Condit's best friend.

I'm trying to find the words to express myself, and am unable to. This is so sick. I see the defense already has her excuse worked out, that she herself was abused. Utterly insane.
Why would the idiot neighbor allow her nephew to run around with a known sex offender? Good grief!

Incredible. One mother sends her boy to live with a violent sex offender, and another sits and listens to him being tortured and murdered. Obviously, Cejas is the villain here, but - lacking any more information - it's hard to say that anyone in this scenario had a lick of sense.

I tell you what, if there is one thing that will ever cause me to loose total control and eliminate the life force out of a person it is the abuse of a child by a parent.
Been there done that. I can tell you from personal experience that kid was helpless, and he knew it.
And I agree, Mom stood by, while it happened. She had a responsibility as a parent to Protect that kid. Dialing 911 and leaving the receiver off the hook was all it would have taken. Arrest her for letting it happen. Feeling sorry after the fact, doesn't bring the kid back.
I cut her no slack.

The child activists in this state are to busy taxing us smoker's "for the children" to worry about whether the kids live or die. Just raise the taxes.

Dialing 911 and leaving the receiver off the hook was all it would have taken.Sometimes that doesn't work. But not even trying is abysmal. How anyone could leave a child to be killed is beyond me.

Let me get this straight: the guy is a convicted sex offender, and also currently being required to do time on a sheriff's work detail because he violated a restriction connected with his conviction as a sex offender, AND HE'S LIVING WITH FOUR CHILDREN?!?!?!?! No social worker checking up on the situation, having a private meeting with the kids and wife to make sure things are okay? What the H&#! is going on in that state? I wonder if the poor woman even knew that this guy was a convicted sex offender. I wouldn't count on the California authorities having bothered to tell her.
And I don't think, based on the info in this article, that it's fair to blame her. She was no doubt terrified for her own children's safety, and probably knew it was too late for the dead boy anyway. People who live in this sort of situation aren't likely to be educated enough or bright enough to realize that calling 911 and just leaving the phone off the hook would bring help. And it sounds as though this guy was so crazy and violent that if he'd realized she had dialed the phone, he'd probably have killed the woman and her kids before the police got there.

There is more to this story. The father is still married to his first wife, and she left him in 93 when he raped her younger sister. He was then a registered sex offender.
The 12 year old boy was just recently sent to him from North Carolina.
This marriage is his third wife, and since he didn't divorce the first one, and he is a bigamist.

Sad Story. The libs will probably call it "spanking" and start telling us how to discipline our children so this doesn't happen.

I wish I hadn't read this. I feel dirty and angry both.
