Good grief, another Iron Curtain?

If that's the option people want, you bet I'll oppose it! Poohbah knows a lot more about the logistical side of that than I would. I'm pinging him for those details.

I think the point a lot of people on this thread haven't considered is the following:

1. It is the LEFT in this country that support AZTLAN.
2. It is the LEFT that support bilingual education.
3. It is the LEFT that support welfare beyond all rational usage.

That's how they get their friggin' votes. They support the fringe in all circumstances. That's why these poll numbers are SO SIGNIFICANT. The ideas of the left are drowning.

His pandering to illegals has lost the vote of this white male. Even more adament in this sentiment is my Filipina wife who is outraged at any preference to those who don't play by the rules. Demographics is destiny, and the vast majority has precious little say in the matter. I really can't think of a more important issue to my family. I worked hard for Bush in 2000, but will work equally hard against him in 2004. Too bad there's no posting on Phyllis Schlafly's excellent column on immigration today.

Everyday we slide a little closer to the third world

I disagree.

What is desperately needed is a new version of the Monroe Doctrine. There must be a declaration that the world can not come here to solve its problems. There must also be a declaration that we are not obligated to solve the rest of the world's problems.

I was just curious if the pro immigration crowd here were Mormons
Mormons have a vested interest in latin immigration due to all the recruiting they do in latin america.

There are more latin Mormons than American Mormons
If your immigration stance is a religious one, I think we have a right to know.
Personally I have nothing against Mormons.

So he should pander to "White Males"?

Look, this guy lives in Virginia. What he knows about California is exactly what you know about his neighborhood in Virginia. The difference is you have the good sense not to bloviate on about something you know nothing of.

Aliens?

Didn't you mean American citizens?

Alien culture?

California, Nevada (snowbound), Montana (mountainous), Tejas (tiles), "New" Mexico, Florida (flowerful), Colorado (red one)...Latinos have been here for quite sometime.

Not only that, but your statement would seem to indicate that you believe that europeans are indigenous to this hemisphere.

Funny that many of us who live in California agree with RLK. I guess we don't see the situation as clearly as someone like you, living in Virginia.

I'll bump that. Ironic, isn't it?

It's got nothing to do with my motivation. My brother's experience was pertinent to this.

The Iron Curtain and Berlin Wall were built to keep people IN. Is that so hard to fathom?

The thing is, my brother's experience pretty much contradicts the notion of a "hostile invasion." Most of the folks he came across were hard-working people who felt blessed to be in this country, even though they didn't have a lot of luxury here.

Some of these folks are working two full-time jobs. I don't think he came across ONE Hispanic who bought into the whole Aztlan notion at all (I'll check with him on that). If this was a hostile invasion, I'd go along with the notion. But right now, it does not seem like a hostile invasion at all, based on my brother's account.

We were born in a first world country but, we will die in a third world country Everyday we slide a little closer to the third world

You don't believe everything you read do you? Buchanan used to be a fine conservative, but he lost me when he had a Socialist VP on his ticket. Now, he's no different than O'Reilly, an opportunistic populist that'll say what you want to here.

Oh jezzzzz, looks like were going down memory lane a few hundred years again, by those that attempt to mimimize this national, titanic crisis, at every turn. They never miss an attempt to sugarcoat the the incremental suicide of this country...

I wont mention names, but it's the same ones. Just like clockwork......
