I know your heart is in the right place, but don't ever 'arrange' a crime scene or lie to the cops. The truth will out, and you'll be in the can.
Better to learn the law on self defense in your area and react appropriately.
Dead intruders make poor witnesses in court and that should be taken into consideration.
I would hope that if I ventilated a bad guy in my child's bed, the jury would be sympethetic without arranging weapons, etc.
If the cops catch you in a lie, everything else is suspect.
I agree 100%. In this situation, the father would have been entirely within his rights to beat the intruder to death, to rip out his throat, or to get his gun and shoot him between the eyes. No policeman would arrest a father who killed a naked intruder he found in his 9 year old daughter's bed. Most policemen that I know would thank him.
