New York City to Open Ethnocentric Schools

NEW YORK, NY — Following an announcement by the National Education Association suggesting to teachers that they be careful on the first anniversary of the September 11th attacks not to “suggest any group is responsible” for the terrorist hijackings that killed more than 3,000 people, and inspired by the Kansas City School Board’s “African-centered middle school” set to open this fall, New York City has decided, in the words of Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tryan Exacerbate, “to provide a ethno-sensitive environment for each and every student in the system that will foster a sense of dignity and pride in their heritage, rather than perpetuating an outdated Eurocentric construct regarding acceptable norms and levels of knowledge, achievement, and behavior within the classroom.”

Dr. Exacerbate acknowledged the difficulty in implementing the plan, entitled “Take a Peek—We’re All Unique,” given the diversity found in the NYC School System.

“In establishing a taxonomy of ethnicity, we have identified 261 of what we call `base ethno-groupings’—that is to say, individuals who can trace their ethnicity to a single group,” Exacerbate explained. “When one factors in the permutations resulting from inter-ethnic intercourse, the number of the secondary, tertiary, quaternary, quinary, senary, and septenary ethno-extrapolations is quite large, as one might imagine.”

“In order to ensure the viability of the program, we had to make some concessions,” Dr. Exacerbate continued. “We utilized a mathematical model that factors in such issues as historical exploitation at the hands of European and American imperialists, geographic impediments that limited a particular group’s opportunities for development, and the power and influence of a group’s advocates in the media. We did not factor in the total number of students within a given group, as we felt that to be irrelevant and, quite possibly, discriminatory.”

BSNN.net learned that, as of this writing, the NYC School System plans to open 8,569 new schools to achieve the goals of the “Take a Peek—We’re All Unique” program. Dr. Exacerbate gave a brief overview: “We were, of course, forced to engage in a process of winnowing, if I might use that word, to eliminate certain groups that have enjoyed historical privileges—in a nutshell, you won’t be seeing schools for Czech-Bohunk-Polacks or Froggy-Mick-Americans—they’re on their own. Also, the Jews were eliminated very early in the process. We think they can take care of themselves. Basically, there will be no Caucasian-based schools—all students of Caucasian extraction will be bussed to one large school, which they will have to build in northwestern Maine.”

“Instead, we are focusing on groups heretofore deprived, culturally, economically and educationally, by the old system. Some examples of the new schools are the Blackfoot-Malay-Chadian Preparatory, the Inuit-Cambodian-Uruguayan Magnet School of the Performing Arts, and Moroccan-Madagascarian-Malian Academy, to name but a few. We are very excited and optimistic that the program will create a sense of self-worth, pride, and equality among previously disenfranchised populations and rectify historical injustices. We don’t have a final estimate of the cost to implement the program, but, as I stated earlier, this program is not `numbers driven’—it comes from the heart. Who among us can put a dollar figure on something as important as this?”

Good God--how long before we become a series of city-states led by various ethnicities.

After going through years of upheaval and agony integrating everyone, now we're slamming the car into reverse?!

Anybody else think MLK is spinning in his grave?

When you gut the socio-babble and academic fogspeak, this is a proposal for segregated schools. Yup. Schools segregated by "ethnicity." In the old days, we used to call that "race." And schools segregated by race were, in the words of Brown vs. Board of Education, "inherently unequal."

But in the topsy turvy world of liberal doublethink, inherently unequal is now good. And just when George Wallace was finally catching up ...

White guy here... When do I get to start feeling pride in my ethnicity? I never had special classes for that. School never taught me how to be proud of my race and my gender.

Oh thats right, it was my parents who taught me by being good role models and showing me what it means to be a responsible person, proud of his country and his family.

These people need to get a clue.

But it's a great argument for homeschooling. Alone in a classroom with your own kin.

I have the answer...

just exempt Black children from school, they refuse to learn anyway...

just leave them at home with their bitter mother, she will teach them all they need to know...

they are victims!!

Did you ever notice it is the Black family that has nine kids plus mom and dad and they all have different last names??

That is the Fathers Day Anomoly!!

Yeah I know, it isn't satire without a bit of truth.

Those keywords that say "humor" are small and often overlooked.

Posters should take a deep breath and read everything, including the link, especially if the article appears to be controversial. Not to say I haven't been taken hook, line and sinker before.

You know KLT, this is not the first time my biting wit has caused me to be pigeon-holed as highly intelligent and well read!!

I don't know how much longer I can labor under the burden of being highly intelligent and well read, without Government Funds...

I would like to know how Black people stay stupid with all that help???
