[history]
Nearly 35 percent of the Republicans in Georgia's 4th Congressional District are expected to cross over and vote in tomorrow's Democratic primary in an effort to oust Rep. Cynthia A. McKinney. The Republicans would join a strong Jewish vote in support of Mrs. McKinney's foe, former state judge Denise Majette.

Actually, from reviewing her rantings, her big beef was sanctions on Iraq.

Racial authenticity has crept into the campaign rhetoric recently, with one McKinney campaign ad claiming that Mrs. Majette, who is also black, "sold us out."In memory of the world's dead editors, a moment of silence please.

Pity the cross over is only 35%. Voting in the GOP primary is a waste of time in this election cycle in this district.

I'm conflicted.
I want to see McKinney kicked to the curb.... but I also want to see her big stupid face disgracing the Democrat party in the days to come.
The Democrats deserve her.

The Democrat party manipulators didn't hesitate to get out the crossover vote for McCain in the presidential primaries a couple of years ago. I don't know why on earth the Republican organizers want to stop this genuine grass-roots effort to dump McKinney, especially since a Democrat is bound to win and the crossover probably comes equally from supporters of all the Republican contenders.

Absolutely correct. It would be better if 95% of Republicans crossed over to vote against McKinney.

McKinney does not have a "stupid" face and is not stupid. She is quite articulate. Yes she is a demogogue, race baiter and some other things bordering on evil, but that is another matter.

"outspokenly pro-Palestinian" Actually, from reviewing her rantings, her big beef was sanctions on Iraq.
No matter how you slice it, it reeks the skiffy stench of treason. McKinney is exactly the type of rodent who needs to be run out of government "service".

I saw a debate between Denise Majette and Cynthia McKinney. Whenever the question came of McKinney's subversive supporters came up, she would evade answering the questions by saying that her constituents didn't talk about that stuff. The constituents talked about social security, medicare and "improving the quality of life" according to MarxKinney.

Memories of Michigan 2000.
Actually the Republicans in this case have a much better argument than the Dems did 2000. Since the winner of the Primary will certainly win in November, this for all practical purposes is the election, since these voters live in the district, they have every right to effect the outcome of the election, regardless of party affiliation.
File this one under : Choosing between the lesser of two evils.

Just had a phone call from a friend who lives in this district. She had a phone message stating "Attention: Please be aware that it is *illegal* to cross-over and vote in the primary election tomorrow. Should you attempt to do so you must show proper paperwork!!" Can you believe this ??? Unfortunately some may believe this LIE!!!

Geez...its the first time I've seen the Washington Times (and the New York Times and NBC Nightly News, etc.) all worried about what Republican voters in Georgia's fourth Congressional District might do on voting day! Although we certainly 'preciate all the attention...what's up? Me thinks its not about the fourth Congressional District in Georgia. Keep sending the money...either way it helps the economy here.

You can bet one thing, tomorrow the Billy and Cynthia "machine" will be in full forward gear. The bus loads will go from polling place to polling place with lawyers on board. The dead will rise from their graves to vote for Cynthia. The socialist thugs will be at the polling places to assure "fairness" for Cynthia. Look out folks, here comes the "banana republic" in Georgia. You won't believe the fraud that will come out tomorrow!
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see her go down in flames. But, she has Billy and all the socialist, plantation "Bosses" to enforce his will. God help the white man that shows up to vote tomorrow. Please do, vote that is, but keep a low profile. My best advise is to look like a democRAT! Dirty, dishoveled, unshaven, and drunk! That should get you by the thugs.

McKinney does not have a "stupid" face and is not stupid. She is quite articulate. I disagree completely.
I didn't think my opinion of McKinney could get any lower after hearing her "Bush Knew" statements...but I was wrong.
Her recent appearance in the debate just astounded me. She looked and sounded so stupid and uneducated I was embarrassed for her.
I was truly amazed that people actually voted her into office.
Yes she is a demogogue, race baiter and some other things bordering on evil, but that is another matter.
On this we agree.

I thought McKinney held up quite well in the debate. One must take care not to judge these things based on the fact that you disagree with everything one says. That is mixing up ideology with dispassionate politcal analysis.

Tonight, a very official sounding voice was dialing up Dekalb GOP voters telling them it was illegal if they voted in the Democratic primary. They were told the "Federal Police" would be at each precinct "checking papers"...
To: Guillermo
That's interesting, since I don't think there is party registration in Georgia. Someone appears to be a bit desperate.
