CINCINNATI, Ohio (CNN) -- A Saturday celebration of African-American families and youth was tainted by a violent outburst. A large crowd of teens leaving a concert organized by the annual Midwest Regional Black Family Reunion Celebration became disorderly, tipping over garbage cans, tables, and chairs at the event on the city's south side, according to Lt. Kurt Byrd, a spokesman for the city's police department. ME: Did Reparations folks incide a riot and violate 18 USC Sec. 2101 (at http://uscode.house.gov/usc.htm )?

I watched the 10 & 11 o'clock news last night on different channels, nothing. Nothing in any of the local papers either.

Either the CPD is still investigating and won't release any info or some murders just aren't worth reporting.

I can still smell the teargas wafting in the air in the D.C. area, circa 1970.

These memories are on a par with those of 9/11.

AHA! Found it.

Too bad I can't post it, but here's the link. Says robbery was the motive.

That's a mouthful isn't it?

Your comments are interesting. Thanks.

Does anyone honestly think reparations checks would turn these lowlifes into choirboys and Girl Scouts?

Your welcome, I just get to see firsthand what alot of people only see on the news.

Evidently Reverend Minister Farrakhan doesn't think they'll change, since one of his comments was "a fool and his money are soon parted."

Couldn't believe that one.

"I lived in Detroit when the riots broke out in the 60's."

I lived in the suburbs (still do) and was 10. My father's cousin (a firefighter) was shot and killed by a sniper. Stupid blacks burned their own communities and looted businesses. That was when whites started leaving like crazy...and the city has never recovered, never will IMO.

Can you believe Detroit is trying to get the Democratic convention? Who would want to go to Detroit? The only good thing about Detroit is the Red Wings.

now I found my answer- $1.5 TRILLION DOLLARS!!!!!!!

A bet: Say they get the $1.5 trillion. How long before they need ANOTHER $1.5 trillion?

Like, what the hell did they do with the $6 trillion from LBJ?

I was 10 years old also. My mother made sandwiches and coffee for the National Guard that were marching in front of our apartment. We moved during the riot. And our apartment was robed during the move.

At least in Watts the National Guard had live ammo to shoot looters.
Nowadays they just escort them home with their shopping carts FULL of loot!

Last year (when the Cleveland Indians were still a contender) I took my family to the new Tiger Stadium.

The stadium is beautiful but the surrounding area is a nightmare. I was glad I had my off duty gun with me.

Is there some particular reason that the article had to be linked instead of just posted? Just wondering...JFK

>>>I can still smell the teargas wafting in the air in the D.C. area, circa 1970.<<<

I think something similar ALMOST happened in DC when President Bush was awarded the presidency that he had rightfully won 1.5 years ago. Had Jesse Jackson's scandalous news (out-of-wedlock-birth) not been released right around then, I bet something would have gone down in our nation's capital. I had been in D.C. at the time. Nowadays I'm glad to see that Farrakhan and the Black Panther Party couldn't instigate something simimlar in D.C. even if they quite possibly did in Cincinnati.

I was in LA when the riots occured 10 years ago. Was driving daily to North Long Beach via the outskirts of Compton.

With my favorite Sig 229 on my lap.
